"We are already paying £15 more than a physical version from Amazon"
I'm in America, but why is the Sony PSN charging $30 USD more than what Amazon is selling it at allegedly? Amazon in the States is the same price as PSN. That's a lot of money to be charging extra, I can see a few dollars but not $30.
I originally wrote this off as a kids MMO, but seeing now that it's being developed by Funcom, I'm now interested and this may actually be good. I like The Secret World even though you die way too much, so I'm now interested since I think it will be for more than just kids since Funcom is behind this.
Famitsu, the only Video Game Reviewer that counts when it comes to Japanese games, gave it: (9/9/9/8) 35/40.
If Famitsu thinks it's awesome, then that's good enough for me. I had my LE preordered at GameStop since May and I'm hoping GS's stock arrives tomorrow 8/28.
I was a very sad panda when I went into GS last night during Madden's midnight release to pick this up along w/ Miku, and GS only had Miku as KiD hasn't arrived yet nor was it in transit.
@gostor_lives Buy a PS3. If you own a high end PC there is no reason to buy an Xbox. I bought a PS3 to supplement my PC and I already have over 50 PS3 games that are all exclusive to console. If a game gets a PC release (like Watch Dogs) I will always get the PC version. But having a PS3 is awesome for games like GTA V and RDR and FF13 where there is no PC version and I can enjoy those games plus my PC games when I want.
Wait a minute...Milla from Tales of Xilla is displayed prominently on the splash screen on the front page promoting this vid and then ToX doesn't even get mentioned?!?!?! What blasphemy is this?!?!?! The whole reason I wasted 3 minutes of my life watching this was for ToX since Milla is prominently displayed on the front page!!!
Bait and Switch! Bait and Switch! Bait and Switch!
"They don’t want linear; they want open [world],"
Not true. Sometimes open world is too open world. Linear can be done very well - just look at Last of Us selling 3.4 million copies in 3 weeks. Or Tomb Raider w/ a similar feat.
I loved Far Cry 3 but it felt too open world and I'm not a big fan of Animal Hunting that is now becoming popular in these 'open world' games. Just Cause 2 was way, way too open world and I just couldn't get into it. It felt like there was no Story Missions, it was just to increase your Faction points. FC3 was a little better w/ the open world increase your Faction reputation system.
I want a more story centered game than meander less running around blowing up Outposts and Hunting Animals to make backpacks.
This is why GTAIV was awesome. It was more story based than side event based. And the reason why I'm afraid GTAV might not be as awesome if all you do for story quests is plan increasingly difficult bank heists w/ 3 characters and the 'meat' of the game is all the side quest stuff.
@GrumpyMcNasty I didn't realize the Steam version had TAGES as I assumed just the retail version did and that's the version I thought you were referring to, not the Steam version. GOG.com has it on sale for $7.49 and I ended up buying it so I don't have to deal w/ the TAGES workaround.
Like I said there's an article from the Dev telling you how to bypass TAGES to install the game. Google Riddick Tages and you should find it.
@GrumpyMcNasty It's available on GOG.com w/o DRM. I bought the retail copy 4 years ago for a couple of bucks and getting around TAGES was a pain since TAGES isn't even around anymore. I forgot where I saw it, but IIRC the official website for Riddick tells you how to get around TAGES to install the game. That's why Starbreeze (the dev) uploaded Riddick to GOG.com w/o DRM. Also Steam removed Riddick a LONG time ago.
@ziproy Well there was Day One DLC w/ the season pass in the form of the Early Bird Pack which included four extra gears, gun upgrades, gold skins, and five infusion bottles to scoop up when you went thru the Blue Ribbon Restaurant picking up the Industrial Revolution gear as well.
They got my hopes up when they released the preorder DLC yesterday making me think the first DLC is around the corner.
@soulfulDAGGER Wait, trading cards are going to be like coupons for the store? It seemed like just a gimmick to me. But if you get a discount on the store, then they may be worth even though I only own maybe 5 of those games listed.
