No, especially when there are other PSU's, like this one and this one, that are still from reputable brands, but for cheaper. Corsair's HX PSU's are overpriced, imo.

However, if your budget allows the 750HX, you might as well go with this XFX 850w, which is also quite good.

So what makes the XFX better or equal to the Corsair I posted earlier?

[QUOTE="iOverkill"][QUOTE="SoraX64"]The second one is modular.ferret-gamer
What does modular mean if you dont mind me asking?

instead of all the wires being permanently connected to the PSU a modular PSU has some wire that can be removed or plugged in for better cable management.

Is the extra fourty bucks worth buying a modular?

Obviously not the same card...6970 vs 6950,check the benchmarks ;)MonsieurX
I know its not the same card, I just want to know if the 6970 is worth another hundred dollars verses the 6950 that I can get for a pretty good deal. Basically what it comes down to is which get more bang for my buck?

For what socket?

I'm assuming the latest, 1155:

well if he said "looking for something up to date" it means he's buying a new motherboard for his current CPU or possibly upgrading to a different CPU and motherboard just a guess ;)

Would a ASUS SABERTOOTH P67 LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard be a good buy?
