History, Off topic: I’m a hardcore gamer from Sweden who is now waiting for the PS3 to be launched so I can get back to "safe gaming". Hmmm, "Safe gaming", you think.... Here's the deal... I'm an old and satisfied PS1 and PS2 owner and was thinking of getting a PS3. During the early launch days in the states I got "frightened?" by the price and bought an X360 instead without checking the consumer feedback or forums. Date of Premium X360 purchase: 20/1-2007 with the games PG3 and Gears Of War. Got home and plugged it in on a well ventilated spot without anything placed on or beside it. It worked fine and really(!) impressed me. After three weeks the graphics started acting up, got the X360 replaced with a brand new one. No big deal I thought for myself and went home. Then after five days the haunting troubles came back, but this time in a more advanced shape. It was when I bought Elders Scrolls IV, suddenly during gameplay I got the error message that the disc couldn’t be reed (spelling). Took it out from the X360 and saw massive scratches on it, talked to the support and they blamed it on me. According to the support I must have tilted or touched the console to make the scratches "the Xbox 360 does not make scratches on its own"... Whoever with their mind in the right place tilts a console during gameplay? Hmm, Perhaps I did it with my telekinetic Jedi powers, NOT! Anyhow, I’m a die hard gamer and don’t throw in the towel so easy. So I when out and bought ANOTHER Elder Scroll, both where brand new from the store. After 2hours of gameplay the exact same thing occurred this time on a diffirent place in the game. Two X360 consoles shouldn’t break down during a time span of five weeks, that’s not acceptable for a 571$ console (Swedish Price). Not to mention to freezes that occurred now and then, aprox 10 times. Bla bla bla, a lot of phone calls later Microsoft refused to refund my purchase. Luckily the store where I bought from had a different opinion and gave me my money back without even twitching or thinking about it. So now I’m in line to get a PS3 on launch day. Please compare my scracthes to the more commong tilt scratches: My footage, non tilt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eNlfedFu9c Other footage, tilt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQN_pz1KfMo&mode=related&search= Question, on topic: All you PS3 owners here on gamespot, have you been hit with a lot of glitches? Malfunctions? Freezes? And so on? Try to be as honest as possible, not a fan boy droid. Just for the record, I was REALLY pleased with me X360 and its functions. If those defects wouldn’t have occurred I would still be one. So I’m absolotely not an anti X360 gamer, I maybe just got unlucky, or not. I just want a console I can trust to last for about 2-4 years. Thank you for taking your time to read my msg and giving me your feedback. With regards. Niklas
