@Articuno76: Just because you can change your name doesnt make Link an avatar. In the game Zelda, you are playing as the Hero of Hyrule. The hero, is a character, not an avatar. And you are not the hero, you are the Heros link.

Link is developed in many ways, his friends, family, places he grew up, etc. Also, spoiler alert, Link is actually female, he is a reincarnation of one of the Goddess's of the Tri-Force. Link, Zelda, and Ganon are all female goddesses. Tri-force!

We are apart of Links story, we help him along the way, without us, the link fails. Your role is to help Link. Link is a person, a story, he has a purpose.
