i bought a cheap 6 ft hdmi cable off ebay to go with my 50" samsung dlp (hlr5067w)and i was very impressed but later i noticed on games that timing is needed greatly (particularly sports games like mlb 07 when you swing at the ball) there is a very short delay. i figured it probably had had nothing to do with the cables and my tv just must have a slow delay time, but then i figured maybe it is the cables.

so is it the cables or my tv?

i decided i wanted to have surround sound form my playstation 3 so somebody suggested i buy a digital optical cable, but im not sure if that will work with what i have.

i have a dvd player that has 5.1 surround sound but it only has a digital optical out. would i be able to hook my ps3 up to this system and have surround sound?

Chutebox

Is this a dvd/receiver combo?

no.

It's Great

The game or the wireless controller. I figured the game would be fine, but I need to know about the controller and the dongle.

i got it today and was surprised how small the dongle actually is. the controller works fine though

whensony removed backward compatibilty they cost themselves a lot of ps2 owners. having to update a pc every year is out of the question and while the wii is great for parties and casual players it'z not the sorta thing i want. in my opinion nd prob echo-ing those of many here the 360 quality AND value makes it a fantastic buy. sure in 10yrs when the rest of the technolgy industry catches up 2 the ps3 2 make use of any of it'z special functions it'll b revolutionary but until then 1/2 the console is just junk that u hav 2 pay 4. but at the end of the day i'd go 4 the ps3 - not because itz better but because the game choice on the ps3 is what i prefer. (i don't like FPS that much, if ur an FPS fan microsft wuld be ur haven)

Sandmaester

BC is only removed in 40 gb

the reason i put this in the ps2 section is because i wanted to target what ps2 owners wanted to buy, but once you finally decide to move to next gen what are you going to buy?
