I don't see what the big deal is tbh. Games are already in 3D?

People probably said "its the end of gaming" when they swtiched from 2D bitmaps to proper rendered 3D graphics. People always fear change.

I think it's a good thing. It provides many themes for games to be based on (angels and demons / good and evil / playing god, etc, etc). So in that sense I don't mind. I would mind if it was offensive or preaching in any way.

But, I don't see what the big deal is regarding violence in video games. I mean way back in history we had gladiators that would fight to the death. We have films the depict the most horrific gore / killings you could imagine. Now we have video games that depict violence. What is the problem? I don't want to hear anyone say "but video games are interactive" either. Yes, they are interactive, but they are still a work of fiction.

Well I'm playing Dead Space atm. I also bought Deus Ex 1& 2 from steam for like £3. Also SC2 comes out soon!

Believe what you want, but the truth of the matter is Blizzard are giving us a full game with two rather large expansion packs (and as has been stated by Blizzard, the two other "games" will be priced as expansions.) This is no different from anything other RTS series. There are two things to consider here. One: Starcraft 2 will have over 30 single player missions in the main campaign, plus several Protoss missions. This is more than the original Starcraft or Brood War. Just because you only play as one race doesn't mean anything about how complete the game is. In the Dawn of War games you only played as one race in the single player until the expansions added other Race's campaigns. Did you complain those weren't full games? The second thing is that One of the reasons Blizzard is doing this is to get the game into our hands as fast as possible. Would you rather have a large game now, plus two expansion packs. Or a larger game in 4/5 years and at least one expansion pack?kieranb2000

True, true. I'm just not a fan of the way Blizzard is heading towards micro transactions and such (ie in WoW race change, paid mounts, etc, etc). But you do make a vaild argument.

You get the complete multiplayer, and the Terran campaign. The campaign is going to be about 30 missions long, have a progressive research tree that affects your units and upgrades throughout the game, and will be semi non-linear.

So? Warcraft 3 had around 15 missions per race, plus the five prologue missions and multiplayer. Would people buy Warcraft 3 four times over, just to have access to each race's campaign? No. So what is different now?

Personally I think they are charging full price for an incomplete game and it makes me sick a little.

Ok, so the game costs around £35. But that will only get me access to Terran units / campaign? What about in online play? Can I still play the other races?
