There are TOO many ads on xbl right know. It was almost by accident that I even saw the 2K offers for gold members this month and bought Bioshock 2 at 800MP
Can somebody tell me a movie based on a videogame that has actually been made that isn't RE, Doom, Mario , Mortal Kombat, Tekken or Tomb Raider ? (I mean a game made in the 21th century)
I hope Tom can appreciate criticism because I didn't find this entry very usefull or informative. An Xbox live gold subscription offers indeed priority access to certain games, demos, discounts, apps, and such, so the last point of the psn offering these same services isn't very relevant (only the games they offer for free might be better).
Also there is no mentioning of the practice that some companies had in recent times (most noticeably EA and Ubisoft) of putting a code in their games that basically acts as an online fee which players on xbox live have to pay twice since they pay that AND xbox live gold. (let's remember the gaming aspects of consoles first)
The budget section is mostly BS, I bought one of the first logitech racing wheels at 20€ 2 years ago and it's much better than some wireless wii controller rip-off. Also I'm sure the original 360 wireless wheel controller has been out for so much time you can easily find it in pretty much the same price range of the wireless one.
I just went through the few first tracks but they just all feel flat and uninspired (especially those of JP games) , max payne 3 soundtrack kind of fits, but isn't anything epic either. In the end I would say that the best ones are Mass Effect 3's and Hotline Miami's, and while the soundtrack of Mass Effect is really epic and perfectly fits, hotline miami's soundtrack feels like it has been made by people on acid so it gets an extra point.
@Dezuria I think the problem with recent games is that they'll sell roughly the same no matter what and that after a certain period investing in a game doesn't pay off as much, that's why they don't aim at perfection in games anymore.
