one day my external hard drive just stopped showing up in my my computer page, it still shows up in the device manager page, but a lot of functions like roll back driver, update driver, that kind of stuff are greyed out, when i right click the my computer icon and go to manage, the hard drive shows up (sometimes) but it doesnt initialize, the hard drive makes sounds of winding up 3 times, and then it goes silent.this is all the diag i get from when i use it on my windows machine (its formatted in ntfs), when i plug it into a mac, it simply says that the drive cannot be read. please help! its a Fantom Greendrive 1TB, it has a 2 year warranty, and i bought it back in 2009.

I dual boot in windows XP professional and windows 7 RC, i bought windows 7 ultimate and want to install it on this rig, i want to delete the RC partition and in its place install the windows 7 ultimate, while maintaining my dual boot.

What should i do with the boot.cfg or ini or watever to ensure that all i have is windows xp and windows 7 in my boot log? and that they both work

the thing that sold me on home before the open beta came out was that u could do game launching in it, so in essence u could meet up with a friend and send him a game invite instead of having to find ur friends game server inside of a lobby

i dunno you can't really say that sony put a 100 percent in advertising little big planet... i mean people i show the game to are completely amazed by the game but they tell me they've never even heard about it, which isn't telling of sony's effort on getting the word out there for this thing.

and then sony's whole strategy of putting out demos for games that got released months ago (wipeout hd demo this week on the playstation store? didnt that game come out back in september 08) is something else that doenst make any sense to me

well i dont have any problem with Sony having confidence in their console, but saying that the ps3 and sony are the "official" leaders of the industry and they will beat the 360 because it will "outlast" it is just trying to use technicalities to try cover up their mistakes

alrite a 10 year life span thats great for consumers who have already bought a playsattion becuase they get a lot of life out of this console, but by saying they're gonna have 10 years with this thing seems like they're not very urgent to try and make some sweeping changes anytime soon

im not trying to hate on the playstation, ive owned one since early 07, rite around the release of the 80gb sku, and i do enjoy it. but rite now i just feel like sony isnt doing a good one to me the consumer, by trying to nickle and dime me with things like playstation home (which by the way when can i start game launching more games than just WARHAWK, im about the games not dancing with my avatar), and releasing quality titles like littlebigplanet but not supporting it in terms of marketing...

alrite, maybe not that extreme but sony needs to totally restructure their executive structure, these guys are part of the past, and they refuse to change to constantly changing video game industry. They still have that arrogance and they refuse to admit they've been making mistakes with the ps3,

as a playstation 3 owcner i am getting constantly mad at the way sony products have been doing (the omplete nickel and diming in playstation home instead of focusing on the social game aspect (i still can't launch into any games except warhawk!?), the lack of advertising and marketing for their OWN first party games (little big planet is a prime example).

honestly in my opinion they should slowly start firing the executives or the people in charge and start replacing them with some fresh new faces

Another thing that makes me mad, the commercials! why not just show great hd footage of games in their commercials? why do they have to try and make this artsy fartsy garbage that doesnt get anything across except that they're pompous jerks. For a while, around march of 08, they had commercials that was just game footage (it included scenes from mgs4) and they were awesome! but sony totally bailed on that and went back to their lame commercials

personally, when i was wii-only user, i was jealous of ps3 commercials, becuz, u gotta admit, wii ones suck

hahaha yea the wii commercials were pretty embarrassing i dunno i just want to see GAMES let the games sell themselvse u know? i mean the original mad world gears of war ad is kind of an overused example, but honestly i thot that way to show videogame footage in a modified entertainment medium

They just have no idea how to maintain momentum, and when their consumers tell them EXACTLY what they want, they seem to go out of their way to give them anything BUT that. The main problem is that SCEJ, SCEE, and SCEA all operate like separate companies that just happen to sell some of the same products. Leading to a real disparity between SCEJ, and the other two inept regions that have no idea what the heck they're doing, and let misplaced ideals keep them from securing and producing a satisfactory lineup on their respective (barren) online stores.RandolphScott
