Character wise I like Kirby much more than Mario. He's a cute little balloon for me, just flying around being all cute and do cute things. ^^ But I don't enjoy the Kirby games that much. They are not challenging in any way, the enemies are easily killed, and it gets very repetitive. So looking at the games, I must say I find the Super Mario-series to be better than the Kirby games.Rawrrah
i find mario more repetitive than kirby because all you are doing is stomping on enemies and occasionally throwing fireballs, kirby has so many abilities that it never gets old.

Kirby is definitely better than mario, people only see mario as the best platforming game just because it pretty much saved the videogame crash and revolutionized gaming, but mario is old now, kirby has surpassed him, yes kirby games might be a lot easier (though it has it's challenging parts) it's not as ridiculously punishing as mario where you die and you lose a life, lets look at new super mario bros wii and kirby's adventure wii because they're both the same, new super mario bros wii doesn't have a save feature which can be really irritating, ok mario does have some great traditional platforming elements but kirby has way more variety in both it's copy abilities and it's obstacles, i mean kirby is so versatile it allows the gameplay to become more open and it allows them to put far more punishing obstacles in than mario. in fact if you think about it, mario generally follows the same template of obstacles in his games and though new super mario bros wii has some new ones, they're generally the same every time and this is what i praise about the 3d mario games (galaxy, sunshine, 64, and the new one on the 3ds) as they have much more to offer compared to the side scrolling games whereas kirby always brings something new to the table, in the end, as such if you got rid of the side scrolling mario games, the two would be incomparible, but kirby is still stronger side scroller wise, it has more variety, more features, more content (extra mode, arena etc.) plus it has better music, though that is subjective to be fair, regardless you cannot deny that kirby games have a great soundtrack that really fits the lighthearted theme of the game, the trouble with mario is that although most of the songs are timeless classics, they generally repeat them too much (this could be said the same for kirby but it has added more songs in recent years). super mario galaxy on the other hand has an amazing soundtrack, i was honestly blown away by how good it was, though it doesn't beat the kirby games' soundtrack to me, it was still good in it's own right though, as for the rest i'd consider it mediocre in general. plus let's look at the spin offs, mario kart for example, mario kart only gives us two options, grand prix and time trials (not sure about mario kart 7 or 8 because i haven't played them), kirby air ride, despite being simple and somewhat lacking in balance, it has much more to offer than mario kart, and has far more replayability, it has air ride, top ride and city trial, city trial being the most definitive since it's basicly a sandbox which was a rarity back then (especially for kart racers) but it made the game more memorable. as well as this, it also added a checklist which offered a lot of challenges to the player be they trivial or somewhat difficult which was fun because you felt like you were always progressing. in the end it all comes down to the developers, personally i find sakurai to be far superior to miyamoto, why? because he's open to ideas and isn't afraid to bring them to life, why do you think nintendo put him in charge of smash? because he's one of the most intelligent game developers out there. i'm not going to knock miyamoto by any means, but sakurai is vastly superior and though he no longer is part of hal laboratories, i do think that he passed his baton to hal when he left as shown by kirby's adventure wii, i will always think of sakurai when i think kirby for he set the standard we kirby fans have come to know, we can tell this because of smash bros' success.

I just saw the Steam daily sale game, "Arcadia", and it immediately reminded me of an old XBLA game where you use dual sticks, one to control movement and one to control the direction your ship is pointed in. I remember playing a PC port of it also.HoosTrax

I don't understand the whole point in remakes "pay full price for a game you've already played" wha? now i know some games such as Chrono trigger and Pokemon gold and silver needed a remake because Chrono trigger is hard to find now and Pokemon gold and silver had a save battery which deleted your data when it ran out of battery power but a legend of zelda ocarina of time remake? hell no, it's only just been out up on virtual console a few years back and halo combat evolved anniversary? i only just bought the original on xbox live marketplace why would i wanna buy it again? oh and guess what, final fantasy X is been remade in HD, wow, just goes to show how lazy developers are today "lets make a port of an already graphicly amazing game and charge full price for the same game with HD compatibility" i'm sorry but i can't see any differrence between normal and hd, it looks exactly the same, now a game in full cgi, that would be epic, but we'd need to be able to combine it with gameplay which would be difficult but HD? don't make me laugh, it's just a made up term to make people thing that the graphics are better, at least thats what i believe. seriously can't anyone see that the gaming industry is trying to get easy money? jeeze you can please anyone these days, imaging if infinity ward decided to remake call of duty 4, imagine the uproar of the cod fans cheering in excitement. well at least it's not my money thats gone to waste.

Maybe he should take his own advice and sell Skyrim at a cheaper price?Moriarity_

he doesn't have the right, it's the shops that price things not the developers
