[QUOTE="imneedy"]I forgot to ask will it run on PCI-E 1.0?hartsickdiscipl

Yes. PCI-E is PCI-E.

Well then why is there different versiona of it? There's 2.0 and 3.0, this a 2.0 card.

4770 uses much less power but is a good deal less powerful.kaitanuvax
I just want to replace my 8600 I'm really sick of this video card. On the 2600 I could get at least get decent settings on games.

Im running a HD4870 + 3 HDD's + 2 DDR3 Sticks + PII 545 on a 430 Watt PSU. I was completely amazed when It all worked, and Iv never had any issues with it before. I think it really dependson the quality of your PSU.

That's good to know so it should run on 450 watts. Is there any noticeable difference between a 4770 and a 4870?

[QUOTE="ProudLarry"] As long as you're not running multiple hard-drives or optical-drives, you shouldn't have a problem. But what CPU and how many sticks of RAM do you currently have installed?

Im running an Intel Core 2 Quad Q 6600 Processor and have 3 gigabytes of DDR-2 Ram.

I was wondering if I could run an Radeon HD 4770 on my 450 watt PSU. I had run an 4600 previous but it fried. Now I'm running a Geforce 8600 and I'm sorta sick of it not being able to run anything. It also says that the 4770 runs at min. of 450 watts but I'm not sure.

[QUOTE="imneedy"]So will it work?hitman6actual
I've been running my 5770 on a 400W PSU for some time now. Granted, the 400W is pushing it, running on a card that requires 500W, and the whole thing is not very efficient. But it is defiantly possible.

So it's working fine on your 400 watt PSU or should I just upgrade the PSU as well?
