no im sure, as it did this before i even bought my new graphics card...It may be that it is one of those new fans that alternate their speed to keep the cpu cool. my cpu is 3.5ghz stock speed. although it is really really annoying
imrik07's forum posts
does anybody know why my cpu fan is so bloomin noisy...It is quiet when i am surfing or using office but as the percentage of the cpu usage increases, so does the cpu fan...When i am playing a game it is like an F1 car circling the room and i have to turn up my speakers to hear the game. Now i am not stupid and i do know that the processor will get hotter the more you use it, hence the faster the fan will spin....BUT every other pc i have had just had a constant fan noise, no matter how much of the cpu i was using...
Any advice would be appreciated..
^^^^^Ignore this guy...
ALL VERSIONS of Vista come with direct x 10, and ALL VERSIONS are identical from a core stand point. ie all are built the same to a set point and then extra features are built in if you require them.
For example, vista home basic in just vista (including dx10) and no fancy features.
Vista home premium is just vista basic with the new aero glass thingy and a media centre, plus other boring stuff.
The others are just home premium with other stuff thrown in...It all really depends on what you need.
i myself only wanted vista and dx10, much like yourself for gaming, so i got the basic version. I am not interested in the media centre abaility, and the aero glass is just a gimmick, one which i will never use,
One last word, if you do purchase basic and then decide to upgrade to premium in the future, there is an upgrade option built into the basic version which allows you to purchase the upgrade from microsoft and update over the net. (all its really doing is downloading the extra features that i mentioned). Do not let anyone tell you otherwise cos the majority of people out there are misinformed and think that all versions are different.
Especially the guy that said some games are not compatible with the basic version...LOL :) how misinformed can you get. If i was him i would stop giving advice on internet forums.
I would get sky if it worked without a dish,i dont like seeing wankers with them that are the same wankers probably campaigning against the erection of windFarms because they spoil the pretty view.....anyway....is it possible to have sky without a dish?unimpendium115
What view exactly is a dish spoiling? unless you enjoy the view of roughly 6 bricks on your neighbours wall.
The sky digital dish is small so as to not cause much fuss. i actually like the look of the dish on the wall, as it tells everybody else that i have a decent audio visual set up and cannot stand the crap that they show on terestrial these days. Even free view is crap.
By the way there is no SMALL PRINT or CATCH with this deal. The only thing you have to do is own sky tv and thats it. It seems sky are losing money on the BB packages to get extra customers on their tv service. That is not too hard these days considering they have taken away all of the good channels from virgin media. :)
The only things you need to know are:-
The FREE 2mb BB pack is £50 set up charge but after that there is no bills. You get a 2gb limit per month and a free net gear wireless router. (Although my brother constantly goes over the 2 gig a month and all is fine)
The 8mb BB pack is £4.99 per month with a £20.00 set up fee and has a 40gb limit per month. (also get wireless router)
The 16mb BB pack (my one) has no set up fee, is £10,00 per month and has AN UNLIMITED amount of use per month, don't forget your FREE wireless router.
I know some people may think hey this bloke must work for sky or somethin, but it is just i am not into being ripped off, esecially here in rip off britain. I myself was paying the same amount with another BB provider for an 8mb line, what i am now getting with sky is my tv, my 16mb unlimited broadband AND FREE phone calls in the uk anytime for the exact same price.
In my opinion these deals are pretty hard to beat, and i should know cos im a tight g*t.:)
Yeah, but if you subscribe to the 16mb package it does not mean you will get 16mb.. It all depends on what your telephone line can accept. When joining them they do a test on your phone line, while you are on the phone to them, and then they tell you what your expected MAX speed will be.
Mine was 14mb (not too shabby) and they recommended their extreme package. I usually get about 1mb speed though when testing my connection on the net. For example i get about 1.4mb per second download when downloading large files. I can download a 100mb file in 1.5 minutes and say 1gb in 10 mins :)
[QUOTE="miniman-45"]I've got a PS3 but I have'nt got online yet. I'm getting the Sky package soon i was just wondering if anyone else uses there internet with Sky and if its laggy or not.IQT786
im getting it next month as my aol finishes 8mb sounds good for £10
Actually it is £10.00 for 16mb broadband and only £5.00 for the 8mb. You can even have 2mb BB for FREE.... As you can tell i have SKY BB myself, and have to say the service and speed is amazing.
You get afree netgear wireless router which the PS3 has no trouble recognising. I too have heard of people saying that their wireless routers get dropped connections, but as of yet i have not had any problems at all, even when playing online.
To anybody listening you must be insane to be paying the prices you do for other ISP'S when you can get so much for so little from SKY. :)
