Doctor Who

I had been having difficulties with interruptions in service with both internet and television.

Changed cable companies and after two days I can see better service, beside there are more channels.

I get BBC America and can watch Doctor Who without looking for replays on the internet.

I grew up on The Doctor and have seen most of the episodes.

I remember all the Doctors and companions

For too long now we have had to cope without UNIT and The Brigadier

my favourite Doctors:

Tom Baker

Peter Davison - he made a proper cricketer - I still see Tristan Farnon

David Tennant

Chris Eccleston

Jon Pertwee - he had style and great old time car "Bessie" - Worzel Gummidge

in fact the only Doctor I didn't care for was Colin Baker, he was annoying.

another low point was the mediocre Sylvester McCoy.

I know they still use the UNIT name but it is not the same entity as with Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart from

the glory days of The Doctor

why all the hate on Lance Armstrong

look what he accomplished while on drugs.

while I was on drugs I could barely walk to my car without falling down.

and once I made it there I had trouble driving a kilometre before crashing

and I did more than once.

I wouldn't have dared riding a bicycle on drugs like Lance and he won a few races.

I would think he would be congratulated for managing to stay upright much less winning :P

I am urging and also trying to show patience

for a couple of reasons.

I trust that the admins and techs will finish getting this site in order and they will finish fully integrating livefyre into the new Gamespot which will make a huge difference especially with our ability to make comments.

and that I'll figure out what is going on with my browsers. both AVG and now Avast warn me that both the old and now the new Gamespot are not to be trusted and also as soon as I try to load Firefox Avast gives me the the malicious url warning and will not let me update that site because of this. I have sent the message on them regarding this issue and will work on updating my drivers but that was supposed to have been done already.

to be honest I had forgotten about the drivers until Alexandra (VintAge68) mentioned it when we were talking yesterday.

In Washington D.C.

A driver was stuck in a traffic jam on the highway outside Washington, DC.

Nothing was moving. Suddenly a man knocks on the window.

The driver rolls down the window and asks, “What’s going on?”

“Terrorists have kidnapped Congress. They’re asking for a $100 million ransom.

Otherwise, they’re going to douse them all in gasoline and set them on fire.

We’re going from car to car collecting donations....”

“How much is everyone giving, on average?” the driver asks.

The man replies, “About a gallon each.”

I agree with Iran's Supreme Leader

I have to agree with what Ayatolla Ali Khamenei said.

"We are pessimistic towards the Americans

and do not put any trust in them," he said.

"The American government is untrustworthy,

supercilious and unreasonable, and breaks its promises."

I couldn't have worded it any better.:D

He obviously has had dealings with the American government

to be able to describe us so accurately!!

regarding Kenya

When I was growing up in midwest (midlands) of the United States

I had some very good friends that I've stayed in touch with all my life.

A few of these are from my time living near one of the Native American "reservations"

My best friend in those days was a few years younger than me and started

college after I graduated.

He sent me a picture from his small midwest school one day in the late '70s of a young

man sitting on the concourse with a lunch bag of money and explained it.

The son of Jomo Kenyatta was sent to their unknown college for an education

and to stay out of publicity and to keep away from the media.

it was a success because only a few of his pals knew who he was or that

he got a monthly allowance that amounted to enough $100 dollar bills to

fill a lunch bag!

As anyone who follows the International news can see he is less less flamboyant

only now no longer feels the need for any restraint.... were that the case

he would not be up for charges in the International Criminal Court for

crimes against humanity stemming from the loss of the last election.

Now he can't get money from his daddy there are also charges of

misappropriation of fund:lol:

Man versus Woman

Everyone who is or has been married or in a serious relationship....

tell me this isn't accurate.

Two Women Chatting

Woman 1: I had a fine evening, how was yours?

Woman 2: it was a disaster. My husband came home, ate his dinner in three minutes

and fell asleep in two minutes. How was yours?

Woman 1: Oh it was amazing! My husband came home and took me out to a

romantic dinner. After dinner we went for a long walk.

When we came home he lit candles around the

house and afterwards we talked for hours. It was like a fairytale!

Meanwhile their husbands are at work talking.

Two Men Chatting

Husband 1: How was your evening?

Husband 2: Great. I came home, dinner was on the table, I ate and fell asleep.

It was great! What about you?

Husband 1: It was horrible. I came home, there's no dinner because I forgot to

pay the electric bill - so the they cut the power and I had to

take my wife out to dinner which was so expensive that I didn't have

money left for a cab. We had to walk home and that took an hour.

When we got home I remembereed there was no electricity so I had to

light candles all over the house! After all that I was so aggravated I

I couldn't fall asleep and my wife was jabbering at me half the night!

Amanda Knox trial - AGAIN.

it is time to bring back out all those tired Knoxy jokes because the Amanda Knox

appeal the overturned the conviction has itself been overturned by the Italian.

Supreme Court.

They must have been annoyed by all the jokes about Italy folding once again

under pressure from the United States.

While not exactly what you would call munter I don't reckon that Amanda Knox

would get a knickname like "Foxy Knoxy" if not for the pleasing assonance

of the rhyme with her family name.

After all she has never seemed to go out of her way to appear to be sexy.

There were a couple years when you couldn't avoide her in the news and it

appeared to me that she had the appearance of a librarian more than the sex

fiend the journalists were making of her.

Also I don't blamer the girl one iota for not returning to Italy for the new trial.

she spent 4 years in gaol-jail the last time around.

not likely to attack Syria

why do I say that?

if our President and Secretary of State were not willing to send troops to Benghazi

when American lives were at risk from terrorists why shoule we expect them to send

troops to Syria when it is Syrians fighting each other and there is a question regarding

which side would be the correct one to support.

I knew a young man with a rapid reaction force who was on a ship at sea, geared up

and ready to move out to Benghazi as soon as they received the command but the

word to go never came and when they finally stood down it was all over.

After talking to him I knew that any comment talking about "not having knowledge"

or being unaware of nature of what was happening while it was ongoing was

nothing more than typical Washington spin and double talk.

that is why I am afraid that the present fuzz about Syria is not a serious

attempt to make an attack but is really another typical Washington attempt

to deflect attention from subjects that were becoming embarrasing.

such as the cost of the new Affordable Health Care Plan which is turning out

to be affordable only for the politicians who decided to opt themselves out

of this not so affordable plan. :P

Bashar al-Assad is the legal government whatever you think of him.

if we were to support the opposition we are basically siding with Al Qaeda terrorists.

it is a lose-lose scenario regarding any question of military involvement.

From what I have gathered from talking or writing with people I know in the area.

there is no wish for America to become involved - we have no business there.

just as we had no business in Iraq or several other places.

I was in Kuwait during the second Gulf War which was known in America as Desert Storm.
