so i'm guessing i'm not getting an answer to my original concern with regards to CALL OF DUTY: WORLD AT WAR....

It's happening more now, I start the game, the video plays, I try pressing X or any other button on the controller, it doesn't read it. I quit the game, put it in again, same problem.. even when I turn on/off the PS3. THe problem is that if I let the 'Activision' video play, it doesn't work after that and goes to a black screen.

Please help!

Edit: when I try Fifa 09 or KZ2, they both load without problems...

cod5 is an incredibly glitchy game... mine freezes after playing for an hour or 2....yarou1000

freezes how? Mine occassionaly freezes when 'Reading the HDD'.

Just wondering if this problem is normal. I am currently playing COD5 with MP2. Here's my issue, once i start my ps3, I select to run the game, the game starts running and the 'activision' video starts running. Sometimes, I can just press one of the buttons on my controller to go to the title screen of COD5 where it says 'press x to start'. I press 'x' and i'm at the menu, the game runs fine no problem.

On the other hand, sometimes when the inital video starts, no matter what button I try pressing on the controller, it doesn't read it. I can press the PS button and 'quit game', 'turn off controller/system' etc but the game doesn't read any of the controls. After the video runs and that Activision sign is displayed, it goes away and I get a black screen. Sometimes I have to eject the CD to make it work, or turn off the system or this last time I had to delete the 'game data utility' for COD5 and install it again. Even then I played twice after that, and I ran into the same problem once already....

Did anyone else experience this? And would know if its the game or my PS?

I'm still kind of new and COD5 online multiplayer. I was playing the offline splitscreen for a while and now that I started online, I came across the ranking and how the weapons are really different from offline. I was hoping to get some input on the following:

1) I noticed, in a lot of stages, people had weapons with small scopes on it, I'm not talking about the sniper rifle but other machine guns with scopes on it. Can anyone tell me how you can get scopes for specific guns? like if I need one for MP40, how can I get that? I noticed it's a lot related to completing the Marksman challenges? Not sure how many I need to complete to get that scope?

2) In some situations, as soon as a person dies, they have their grenade lying at the spot where they were killed. And then I die lol. What are they called and how can I do the same? I've tried releasing the grenade right when I know I'm about to die but it has never worked this way.

3) How can I get bounding bettys? They are the one you put in the ground and they go off when someone steps on them, correct?

Since PlayStation Network Cards are now available in Canada, I was wondering if it's a good idea to buy. Basically, I don't want to store my credit card info on PSN Network, but would rather go for a PSN Card ($20 one).

My concerns are related to the experience I had with iTunes cards in Canada. Apparently, you can buy music with it but not apps! I still have a few gift cards sitting at home with no use. So if anyone have used these PSN cards purchased in Canada, will you be able to answer these questions:

1) Can I used the card to purchase anything on the PlayStation Network?

2) Can I only use this card with a Canadian PSN account or will it work with US or UK etc?

3) Is there an expiry to it if there is a balance sitting on it after a year or two? (I know iTunes have something like that)

4) Are there ANY restrictions to the use of it?

I was reading about Tom Clancy's HAWX and it seems like an interesting game. I'm particularly looking for air-combat or air-simulation. Have you guys played it and recommend it?

I was wondering if there is a game that includes air combat simulation where you can play split-screen (4 players -both online and offline - offline is a must). I really like the idea of Hawx if only it had offline split screen, would be perfect. I heard Warhawk has something like that, but I don't know how good it is. I'm more into realistic jet fighters rather than funny looking ones like in warhawk (only checked it out in the demo version).

What would you guys recommend?
