Hi,

I have been thinking of buying a new laptop, for general use, entertainment and some games. I have been looking at one specific model. My only concern is, the AMD processor. It has 2.20 GHz AMD Turion X2 RM-74 Dual-Core Mobile Processor.

I usually always go for the Intel processors, cause I think they are better quality, and result in longer batterly life for the notebook.

Anyone knows if the AMD processor is as good as the intel one?

Thanks,

S

Hi,

I was just wondering. Turning the ps3 on is quite simply 'touching' the power button at the front.

How does it turn it OFF? I've noticed that if I just 'touch' it, it does not turn OFF. Do I need to change the settings?

I've also heard I have to hold down the power button for a few seconds before it turns OFF? Is that the same as force shutdown?

Thanks,

I have the 80GB one (CECHL01). That sound is worst during FIFA 09, but less when playing other games...

what about your ps3 blu-ray player? is that noisy too? :D:D

Vicius
Yes, that's actally what makes the noise. It's something like the youtube sample I posted in this thread: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=26901776&msg_id=312544125#312544125

Hi,

I know i'm getting all paranoid about it, but I do need your help. I previously posted another post regarding the sounds made by ps3 until finally I came across a youtube sample. I still wasn't convinced that its normal and so wanted an input from you guys. (I believe stuff more here than anywhere else, probably cause these are the only forums I like using)...

I do apologize for the same topic again, but can you PLEASE let me know if the sounds made in this sample normal? the video isn't too long so please do take a quick look at it.

You have no idea how much I would appreciate this!

ok now that I had no CD playing, the unit was really quiet. It's more the drive player which makes the sound. I'm not talking about the constant humming sound of the fan, but more of a 'ticking' sound everytime a screen loads or changes on the screen. Maybe that is when the disc is spinning faster.

Ok so the sound is related to hard drive (a clicking sound most of the time I see HD light). And the blue-ray disc player when the CD is running (like there's some extra force being exerted). It's definitely more than a slight hum. And you can clearly tell i'm not good at explaining those sounds! The only problem is that the unit I previously exchanged had NO such problem! (Except for the damn freezing). I'm still within the 30-day period but I don't want to be red-flagged for exchanging all the defective units at Future Shop..
