of course it doesn't "make sense" to the money grabbing hog, that is take-two... anything short of monetization, and $70 dollar norms, doesn't make sense to these greedy corporations.
@MigGui: lol there are plenty of smartphones that aren't "tailored to your grandparents" weaker (in terms of performance) to switch.
And the software doesn't change the hardware, your right... But, it certainly helps sell it, does it not?
or else, Nintendo would have sold a lot less switches, and people would have just opted to used a form of emulation to play said softwares on their smartphones.
Regardless of how dated the technology hardware is, the software (games) will always play better on the device they were created for... No matter how "powerful" a smartphone is.
In any event, this whole conversation is irrelevant...
The switch is a gaming handheld,
a smartphone is a phone, that you happen to be able to play games on...
Its first priority is being a phone, hints smartPHONE.
If your going to do mobile gaming, I would rather play on a device meant for gaming (and has the games I wanna play) than a device that has games, meant more for convenience, than gaming.
Let me guess, this happens in the new game also, and GameSpot had to find a way to spoil it once again in the articles title?!
Wouldn't be the first time, and definitely won't be the last.
Maybe a way for GameSpot users to vote on whether the GameSpot employee that wrote the article (and the spoiler, without warning) gets fired, would discourage further spoilers being leaked on the main page, without warning, right in the title, or article description.
Members get banned or muted, on here, and other forums, there should be repercussions for staff also.
@rizenstrom: switch is more of a handheld, than a console.
Basically not much more than a mobile device.
So in terms of being "underpowered" isn't really correct, its on par of what it should be, for the size and age of the technology used.
As far as $60 dollars...
Nintendo games have anyways held their retail value, going back generations, and they rarely have discounts (worth noting)
Plus, seeing on how game publishers are starting to try and push the envolope on a $70 norm for Xbox, PlayStation and PC games.
The $60 dollar price point will start (eventually) being a "discount" and a thing of the past for AAA games. (Unfortunately)
I personally don't support a $70 price point, nor $60 for that matter, but its coming... Even without the inflation problems currently, it would still happen eventually.
Corporations and their greed will never surprise me.
