Personally I would much rather have a game with a good single player then a vs. multiplayer. I love single player games and is really all that I play and would much rather play a good single player campaign then a perfect multiplayer mode. When I play video gamesI like to get brought into the games world and play through a story, instead of go to this map kill the other team 50 times before they kill u, repeat. When games focus on building in a co-op mode is something that I think is actually a good idea. I would much rather prefer it if they incorporated more co-op instead of vs or even both. But wouldn't you enjoy a campaign a lot more if you can have one of your friends help you along the way or team up with a random stranger to take down a boss you cant beat?
I play for fun and thats it. Honestly I only look at the achievements if it has an interesting name when I unlock it otherwise I just play and when I hear that sound, I simply glance at it and continue playing.
[QUOTE="N30F3N1X"]I completely disagree. I played Diablo II a couple years ago and had a blast. Graphics don't matter that much. In fact some of my favorite games have horrible graphics by todays standards. And it's not nostalgia, it's because they are fun. There isn't really a purpose to play Diablo 2 now if you haven't back in the day, you would "miss the point". The game is still visceral fun, however I reckon its graphics are an eyesore if you aren't used to them.
And no, there hasn't been a game that can be compared to it. Its gameplay mechanics are still unrivaled.

I've always thought that graphics didnt matter that much as long as it was presentable. I was wondering because I've played some old games with mixed results some that I loved where the graphics by today's standards weren't good but looked just fine. While other games just looked stupid and ruined the game sometimes. Thanks for your help.
I suppose downloading the demo and seeing if it works on my computer would be the best way to find out if it works, correct? Thanks anyway for the input from all.
I personally am pretty sick of the game...but only after hundreds of hours in game. If you have never played the game I'd wager you will have a lot of fun even if it is 10 years old. A lot of the game's mechanics still hold up fairly well, although imo the game is showing it's age more than people would like to admit.
Some other more recent games that you could try that are in the same genre:
Titan Quest + Immortal Throne - Can get both the original and expansion cheap on steam (and other places)...in my opinion this is the best diablo clone ever released. Great graphics, best skill system, huge item system, and the game is very lengthy with lots of great locations and boss fights.
Dungeon Siege I & II - Both are great games but stray slightly from the diablo formula with party based game play. It's still very fast pace though and there's tons of great items to find and lots to kill.
Sacred 1 & 2 - The original game is a bit older as well, but the high quality art and huge open world more than makes up for it's age. Very fun game with tons of quests, bosses, items, and a great number of classes to try. Sacred is probably #2 on my 'diablo clone list'. The second game was released last year and made the transition to 3D...while the game looks great and is pretty decent, I think the original is the better of the two.

Should most computers be able to handle these games, I have a two year old Compaq laptop, but dont know much about the specs. Obviously I think Diablo would play fine on but for games like titan quest and dungeon siege

Thanks for the response and the suggested games. I actually have sacred 2 for my 360 and have enjoyed that game thus far, havent played that much yet just bought it. Ill take a look at these other games too.
Have to go with Ocarina of Time, I loved this game on the N64 and still play it on my brothers wii. Most likely my favorite game of all time.
Fairly simple question, ive never played this game before but I saw something about diablo 3 and started looking at this game too, seeing that D3 isn't out yet or for a whilre. My question is, while I know this is a great game, is it still fun to play now even though its 10 years old? Or does it look good enough to where it won't matter too much. Also maybe if you have any recommendations of recent games that play similar to diablo, that would be appreciated as well because that game looks real awesome.
