the zalman heatsinks come with zalman heat sink paste. but i am going to get artic silver 5.

does artic silver not require a layer on both hsf and cpu before you apply?

am worried about using too little or too much, or scratching it off when i apply the zalman 9700?

Question #1 : My case(Antec 900)came with both Hd audio and AC'97 connectors. I can only plug one on my motherboard. Which one should I choose?

Question #2 : I will order a core 2 duo E6750 soon. I will need thermal paste. Does it come with the processor?

Thanks

Dwarfius2

to your first question, it all depends on what your motherboard is compatible with, if its hd, then you use hd, if its ac 97 then you use ac 97. if you post your motherboard i am sure someone can find out which one you use.

your second question, if your serious about cooling your new processor i would go for an aftermarket cooler like zalman, thermaltake, or the scythe ninja, and also use arctic silver 5 which is the choice of the enthusiast and is only 5 pounds. most stock coolers come with a thermal pad on them to cool your processor, but putting it nicely there rubbish and dont do much for cooling at all to be quite honest.

you can combine them, no matter what mobo your running you can combine different makes, models, different speeds. the only problem is, if you combine different bus speeds of RAM say 800mhz and 22mhz, the motherboard will autopmatically scale down the higher bus speed so they both run at 22mhz
