@emptycow you are acting as if those consoles are coming out next year? neither company has announced a thing and even when they do it will still be at least 6 months to a year before they are released from that announcement . even with that Nintendo isnt trying to compete graphically, and i have said that already. it isnt about the graphics, it is about the experience. i would say portable games are proof to that as well. they dont look up to par with consoles but they give amazing experiences and thats how they sell.
@emptycow just because it was used alot doesnt mean it is the best. today we all use the qwerty keyboard but the dvorak keyboard has been proven to perform better but we still use qwerty. there are many more examples of this. just because it is used doesnt mean anything about the quality.
@BigWorld41 I agree. Now just because they haven't said that the games are in development doesn't mean they aren't. I agree though this could really hurt sales later on down the line. I am getting but I am biased towards Nintendo.
@emptycow what new graphics? I can put money down right now that even when the next gen comes the only difference we will see in COD are new killstreaks. The Wii U is going to offer a new experience which is risky but at the same time it is still offering what current gen is offering so it is lacking behind even if it is just matching. Nintendo isn't worried about the looks and they have proved that it isn't about the looks it is about the experience. The Wii failed not because it looked bad but it stopped giving us great experiences that it did when it first came out. One problem taht we have this generation is the lack of innovation. We saw some of it this year at E3 which was great. We don't need power hungry consoles, we need experiences that will make us say wow.
Nintendo made the Wii U have a pro controller to appeal to the people who don't like motion control. For me though I believe this is going to give them a leg up in competition against Sony and Microsoft. Both consoles can play the game but Nintendo's will do something else. I believe the reason why Microsoft and Sony haven't announced anything yet is due to the fact that they don't know what to do next. If they do know what to do they are trying to find a way to make it happen within a home and then make it affordable. Nintendo didn't give up on the rat race to graphics, they moved on from it.
I say all of this but I think one thing can really kill this console. That is the 3rd party. If others don't get involved then it will just be done. Wii U needs Mario, Zelda, but then it needs some Madworld and No More Heroes. Not these exact games but games like this. It needs this wide spectrum, which is what Nintendo is working on, and so far what they have shown us. It will play some kind of COD, it will get a Batman port, it will have a zombie game. Then it will have Nintendo Land and Pikman 3. Coming from a 20 year old, the kid games don't get old if they are made correctly and that is what Nintendo does. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a great example of this.
@emptycow the average gamer also isnt going to spend an arm and a leg to get a ps4 either. what nintedo proved with the wii is that people want to have fun, not just pretty visuals. just like the wii didnt survive on those standards the wii u wont either but from what nintedo has shown us they have that covered. we may notice those two pixals out of place but out of a million more consumers who dont, visuals dont matter. i say they dont matter now. cod has looked the same for the past 3 years and it still sells like hot cakes.
@King-gamer I believe ports and Nintendo Land will work. When the Wii first came out the only game that people could talk about was Wii Sports. When I got my Wii I had Red Steel and Call of Duty 3, but the only game I played was Wii Sports.
I believe it will do well. He is talking about speculation of Sony and Microsoft announcing their next console. They will probably announce these consoles and do you want to know who will now this? The hardcore gamer. I percentage that has grown over the years but still small in comparison to the amount of people who play video games for a hobby, or your average gamer. The average gamer isn't going to look up all of the conventions, or look up when they will announce something. The day that the average gamer finds out about the consoles will more or less be the day that they see a commercial or a news station decides to say something about it for the sake of the parents.
I have only read the first two QnA and I am really glad that he explained that because everybody on the net keeps saying, "How does he get all of his cybernetics back?" Ummm that is simple ONCE YOU ARE A CYBORG IT IS KINDA HARD TO GO BACK TO A REGULAR PERSON. He has been cut and chopped so many times he has become a cyborg. When he is ready to do work he might change up some parts then put on the suit to help him out.
