It's EA I don't give a -

I love star wars and I love video games but in the end this game will have some kind of greedy monetization that I won't participate in.

My grandmother would grab a switch off a tree and whip my mom back in the 60's. When I was a kid back in the 80's they had paddles in school and if you got out of line they'd beat the snot out of you. I know I had it happen to me. I told my mom to F off once and she turned around and socked me in the nose. I was seeing stars. My parents didn't coddle me.

One time I got in trouble with the police. They called my mom and she said keep him and hung up.

Parents have been getting softer and softer over the years. People have kids and think the schools should raise them.

Call me crazy, but I think the fact that parents aren't ****ING FLOGGING their children is a good thing. And a good deal of the psychological community seems to agree with me:

I disagree I was a nasty little cus when I was younger and the paddle got my attention real fast. When I got older my mom came at me with the paddle and I took it away from her and broke it in half. When the teacher threatened us with the paddle it got our attention. It stung like hell the rest of the day I could barely sit. It was common back in the 80's and early 90's. My generation turned out just fine. I have friends with kids and they're like feral apes. My buddy has a 5 year old. We were in a restaurant and the kid was climbing all over the place. I must have heard my buddy say stop that or don't do that 100x. The kid stood up on the seat and belted him right in the face. My mom would have beat me to death if I did that.

I quit or been fired from every job I've had. One job I had a guy punch me and they fired both of us. I would have hit him back but I would have caved his head in and I didn't feel like going to jail. Usually if I think I'm going to get fired I'll quit.

So last August my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer at age 59. At the same time I fell ill and have been battling some unknown illness. I'm 42 years old and been smoking since I was 14. In the back of my mind I've been concerned I might have what my mom does. I got a call from the doctor last week that he found something concerning in my chest XRays. He didn't say what but only that I need more detailed tests. In the meantime I quit smoking cold turkey. I haven't had a cigarette in 7 days. The withdraws have been pure hell. I can't focus on anything other then wanting a smoke. Part of me just wants to start smoking again because if I'm a goner what does it matter.

When I was a kid my grandmother smoked. She grew up on a tobacco farm in Kentucky during the great depression. She smoked her first cigarette when she was 11. She lived to be 80. I never though I could get sick at such a young age. I'm just hoping for the best. I've seen what my mom is going through with radiation and chemo. My mom is cancer free and she still won't quit smoking.

Screw EA as if anyone should listen to them. Big talking heads in the industry telling us what we want in our games. Wheres our pride and accomplishment in Battlefront?

When it comes to media I gotta have something in my hands for my money. Giving the game companies full control over distribution of games would be a nightmare. Physical is good for the hobby it's keeps the game companies from gouging us with prices. I've already seen it with PSN and even Steam to a degree. They rarely lower prices but Steam does have sales from time to time. PSN just gouges the hell out of people.

I got the analogue snes and I'm pretty happy with it. I'm going to pick this one up too. I actually like the look of it. I have about 40 genesis games.
