@lostn: Nintendo must be basically giving up on winning 3rd party support back (western publishers, especially). After the lack of support for the Wii U, to go back to the expensive storage solution that first helped do the 3rd party damage back in the N64 era would be odd if their aim was to maintain a viable home console business.

I'm one of those people who have been saying for some time that Nintendo should give up on home consoles, go multiplat, and stick with the handheld business. Maybe this is a bridging platform towards something like that?

@FernandoDANTE: I didn't mind the floppy controls most the time in Grow Home. There were only a couple of times that I was falling and I bounced straight of something it looked like I should have grabbed, which was incredibly frustrating. MUMs humour was nice too. That said, that one took me 90 minutes to finish and had long overstayed its welcome by then, so the idea of a 4-6 hour version of that sounds awful to me.

The issue these days isn't really that cartridges and USB sticks can't hold the same amount of data as a disc, it is that they cost so much more than equivalent discs, which will of course greatly impact the portion of the $60 retail price going towards manufacturing.

Nintendo games tend to have relatively small file sizes due to the style of game they make (and they have a bit of an obligation to put games on the NX), but it would be much more of a cost factor for 3rd party publishers thinking of putting games on the system.

@Dilandau88: Because people who spend money on consoles, PC's and videogames are really buying stuff they 'need'. But sure, an overpriced statue is where the line really should be drawn.

CE's a generally overpriced for what they are, but they still sometimes come with some cool stuff. Occasionally I've come across a CE I wouldn't mind that only comes with a physical version, and have balked at the idea of having to buy a digital version as well. I think any CE should come with a disc and a code (you could link collectors disc to the same code to help prevent reselling) for the buyer to use, but realistically, on PC just a code with some cool stuff in the mail should be fine, seeing as about 95% of games on PC are downloaded anyway.

@bunchanumbers: It depends what the games are? Zelda is a cross-gen game, Pokemon game could just be a port of Sun and Moon, or a companion handheld-styled game (Star?). It would seem more likely that Mario is 'pure' NX, but it is also likely the only one. I think that diminishes it as a launch.

@skyhighgam3r: Given that they haven't even officially unveiled the console yet, it would seem logical that they would want a few titles to bundle into that announcement to build hype (very shortly before release, by the way things are going).

@nurnberg: Only the female soldiers are inaccurate to the western front (where many Moroccan and Indian troops served under the British) or North Africa, though. Women still served in combat in Russia. But the widespread use in-game of limited concept weaponry, among other things, is definitely not accurate.

@n00bs7ay3r: I don't agree with what he did. In the case that the game was actually not what it had been advertised to be, I would understand the argument that there was consumer interest in him releasing footage. But that wasn't his aim, nor was it the end product of his work. He didn't seem to actually spoil any mechanics or features that the devs had kept secret until official release, but there was obviously the opportunity for him to do so outside of the embargo that reviewers are under, or that may be curtailed even to them. In such a case, where there is no consumer benefit to the spoilers, I would fall on the side of the developer being allowed to have their moment.

If it is important; I'm not excited for the game, I don't think it looks that good, I didn't watch his footage, but I read what some other people said about it. But I don't think leaks are necessarily pro-consumer, and I think developers have a certain right to control their message so long as they're not being anti-consumer.

@nbf4548: Streamed on Twitch first and got banned. Then posted the VOD on YT, then went to VM. He was trying hard to show everyone how amazing an unspoiled game could be.
