I modchipped consoles by the dozens... not for pirating, sadly just to play international versions of games (yeah that was thing). The versions 1-8 of the PS2 were so fast and so rapid, it was unbelievably hard to take apart and make consumer modifications, but god was it fun. Love the ps2.

Tomato tomahto, Street fight II or Fighter History.....

Let the suits settle it out, meanwhile the gamers will determine which game they like the best.

These may all be reasons but the ACB has never made their censorship reasons public, though publishers have released why. And whether we like it or not, that is what that country has decided, and some of it is pretty fair.

After all this is a mass consumer product targeted to children and men that are children who rarely follow ratings boards. Don't like it, then change the rules and laws.

I really liked how South Park did it with the koala crying, makes even funnier.

I would suggest he walk down to his bosses at SQE and tell them this. Gamers are on board, it is your very corporation that has made this decision, some years before the game even came out.

Talk of publishers bringing their games to multiple platforms, was as common as 5th gen. With rumors of trying to get FF7, Resident Evil, over onto the Nintendo and Sega Saturn. With Dreamcast, MS xbox, and PS2, porting their successful games was a high priority and console platforms were on board, easy money.

BUT, SQE like many publishers are addicted to easy money up front. Either through investment funding to get the game to market, or a lower licensing platform fee when the game is launched/sold. It is guaranteed money up front and quickly accessed.

So if , Naoki Hamaguchi wants FF7RB on more consoles, ask his bosses, because gamers are already on board.

An exceptional game, may not be game of the year, but like 13 sentinels- one of the best games out there, by one of the best developers today, Vanillaware.

@Vodoo: Give a go with the PS headphones and earbuds. Not heard about the sound scape, but they do have large planar magnetic drivers, studio grade quality drivers that beats about anything out there. A much more accurate portrayal of a live unplugged concert, in terms of highs and lows, as well as correct positional sound of the instruments.

These used to be too expensive to get down to consumer use decades ago, but for the last ten years greatly changed audio, as more and more manufacturers are moving toward them or tech similar. Sadly they do eat up juice, so I would not expect ANC on them.

I use a yeti mic, and Audeze >60mm cans when gaming and need headphones, or light speed earbuds by logitech in a pinch. Then 2.1 bookspeakers with silk dome tweeters. I tried a friends set of PS5 pulse headphones, and while they were just not the right fit or feel for my sized head and ears, it was very surprised by the quality of the sound. No reverbing bass, warm tones, and impressive highs that were clear but not too bright. No cooking pans hitting the stove sounds. Voices were amazingly rich, i played a whole level of FF7Rb dazzled by their quality before I realized how tight they were.

Go with planar magnetic drivers over any other tech if possible, huge difference.

@punkndrublic: Even better said.

Me and you sound like the same boat ride.

I also a long time fan of all gaming. I started modding psones to be able to play international or region locked games... the ladies loved it (said no one). At a Babbages at xbox midnight launch, but bought games at Electronic Boutique that way I would get free swag at both places. (nerd) I had 4 boxes hooked up via network hub, using a software to get rid of host advantage, with 16 players. The house smelled like old feet, and was humid as hell after 8hrs of people playing Halo.

Same with xbox 360, I not only modded the xbox and xbox 360, but at one point I was fixing the RROD, by reflowing the solder on the cpu/gpu, and video out chips. But you could only do so much, because of the lead free solder that cracked as well as the mounting hardware, which meant that eventually all xbox 360, were going to RROD. I also repaired dozens and dozens of lasers because the disc would hit the lens eye or the bands would break. I was the first to put a led light in the OG xbox, intricate led X light pattern in the 360, and chrome and led lights in the controllers. Loved that damn console, warts and all.

Xbox one, I waited one year exactly out of protest of the xb1. Anti consumer choices, and lack of exclusive games, worthy enough to purchase. I was especially angry at the x1 pro version that promised games would take advantage of all that power... and never did. (I did not buy a (x1pro)- it was the point that they promised a consumer electronic feature, and never delivered. Also the kinect gimmick, was a joke, there was never any games that actually took advantage of the x1 kinect or k2. I used the kinect on 360 to yell out Skyrim 'sis fu ra) at the screen to throw powers, but it worked randomly. A motion gimmick.

Same with xbSx, I had a ton of cash from pandemic, Overtime pay at work, so after one year I bought the console, and I cannot believe it is worse then xb1. REally? ffsake. No, compelling Fable games. A library that is very lacking in rpgs, adventure. Just no games at all, and exclusives is so important to a console. I have PC, ps 1,2,3,4,5, nintendo consoles, and tons more. The defining reason to buy a platform, their games.

I can understand bringing a game to pc after it has been saturated (sold about all it is going to sale on that console at >40% launch price) Then indeed move it to pc to get more $ for the developers, and excite the consumer based for sequels. Launching console and pc same day, dumb. That kills install base, which kills funding for games. We are seeing MS become Sega. Making software for all platforms, basically, and surely leaving hardware.

Painful to see the gains gaming consumers made by great console wars in 5-7th gen just waste away. The competition controlled prices. advanced innovation, and pushed money towards 'games'. Now we have this 'living room environment experience', this 'everything is a xbox', and they keep forgetting about the GAMES. sigh.

As a gamer I try to have hope, but it is not looking great for generations of gamers well after my reset.
