You kind of made this point in your own post - you've dealing with two completely separate theories.
Evolution is a biological theory that explains how life adapts over time. The primary theory most people think of when pondering the origins of the universe is he Big Bang Theory (if you're not bringing speculative physics into the mix).
USC seems to be a pretty good school; I work with a few people that went there & they seem really fond of it.
Are you wanting to stay in-state for cheaper tuition? If not, you may want to consider Georgia Southern; it's a small school about an hour north of Savannnah. They've got a damn good education program.
Utlimately, the decision's up to you of course. Just visit the schools you're thinking about going to & pick what you think will work best for you. Good luck!
