Well its been 3 years since i've built my socket 939 system and it has been serving me well. But its time to upgrade. This is what im getting...

Mobo: Gigabyte P35-DS3L

RAM: OCZ Reaper 4GB (2x 2GB) DDR2-800

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400

GPU: BFG 8800GTS OC 512MB(G92) (Picked this up from the Fry's deal... $229! Performs just as good as a f'n GTX!!!)

Case: NZXT Lexa Blackline

PSU: Corsair 550VX

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 250gb sata drive

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit

There are 2 pieces I still need to figure out... 1) Which cooler to get for my E8400 since I want to overclock it. Only want to spend like $40ish. 2) Which monitor?! I want a 22" LCD but im bummed about the Samsung 226BW panel issue so i've got to figure it out fast.

Overall im happy! Should be a fun build... just need to figure the monitor situation out. grr.

Anyone here have the new Samsung 2253BW? It looks good but there are no reviews anywhere so im a bit hesitant to pick it up.

I've done alot of research and if you're trying to spend less than $200 the HD 3850 512mb is what you should be looking at if you can afford $180 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814129102

If so, how is it holding up to todays games?

I've got a socket 939 system and the X2 3800+ is the best I can get for around $55. Is it worth it if I overclock it?

LOL Wow, that looks so bad and un-fun.

From the videos, the aiming system looks like one of the biggest downfalls of the game.

I was hoping it would be different from the videos awhile back, but it just still looks like overhyped garbage.

so how many people that own a 360 and a PC are getting Gears for Windows? Just kinda interested to see....MikeE21286

Nope.

Enjoyed it on the 360, but have no desire to play on the PC. I'll just wait for GoW2 on 360.

Rofl, not a review to be seen, You know what that means. (If you dont, it means the developers put a long embargo on it or they didnt send out review copies.)

I was actually looking forward to a review to see if I should get it in the Toyrs R Us deal. :(

If you have upgraded your pc this year to dx10 and Vista, then the PC version will look the best.

The 360 will look almost as good, and have Live with all its perks and your freinds.

The PS3 version will be a good game, but lag behind the other two.

It's expected that any game for PC should look better than the one on a $300 console.

Who cares how it looks? The real question is how it plays and how it is online. And we all know the 360 controller completely dominates the PlayStation crap in shooters, and Xbox Live to this day > anything PlayStation has.

It's sad that the lemmings are giving this almost no attention, prefering instead to Idolate Halomikemil828

Maybe if you ventured off of this fanboy filled freakshow of a website, you would see how excited 360 gamers are for this game.
