Well I wouldn't say the Star Wars universe is deeper than LOTR's..I mean Tolkien created an entire history and world that is alluded to within his books, and there are other books in the LOTR universe, while Star Wars is just Star Wars with stuff added on by other people (like the other universe books /comics / games...)

Anyhow Star Wars IV was awesome, the rest were 'meh' and LOTOR 1 was AMAZING and the rest pretty much sucked.... LOTR I > SW IV...

watch the special extended editions... that should change your mind. each adds between 30-45 minuted to the movie. adds like an hour to the rotk.

Cows keep hyping games like killzone2, resistance2 and MGS4.Why?Wasnt killzone 1 a flop,resistance 1 wasnt that good and even MGS 3 wasnt a massive hit,it has its fans but isnt a game that appeals to alot of people.Why are cows hyping sequels to games that arent that great?xgraderx

More detail on how much the full verion of Mass Effect will be like on the PC. I'm really glad they are un-consolizing the UI.

The most obvious of these improvements, which was immediately evident regardless of the fact that we were checking the game out on a 720p HDTV rather than on a higher-resolution monitor, is that the visuals are now much sharper and more detailed. The character models look great, environmental features such as water and foliage are much more believable, and even the textures of the relatively featureless non-story-critical planets look very different now that you can clearly see cracks in the ground, small stones, and such. On one of the planets we were shown during the presentation, there were clouds of dusts blowing across the screen, which are in the Xbox 360 game but not nearly as effective as they are on the PC. We can report that the PC game's textures load much more quickly than those in the console game as well, and though we noticed them popping in on occasion, the problem wasn't nearly as pronounced as it was for Xbox 360 players last year. For what it's worth, the PC version of Mass Effect that we were looking at is still a work-in-progress as well, so it's conceivable that the problem won't be in the finished game at all.

OH.. and btw...

I really don't get the hate between the two styles. I like both JRPG's and WRPG's. JRPG's got me into RPG's in general, and I blame WRPG fans for the arguments - they are the ones who always complain about JRPG's not being "real" RPG's.

If it were not for JRPG's, many people would not be playing RPG's, same as if games made for a more general audience such as Mario did not exist, there would be far less "hardcore" gamers around.

Im personally very excited for Fable 2, and im disappointed FF will probably never be ported to the 360, I don't feel buying a PS3 just for FF, LBP and Folklore is justified.

EDIT: At the end of the day, what puts me off many WRPG's is the whole nerdy, Lord of the Rings/Dungeons & Dragons feel that so many of them have. It gets boring when you realise how many of them are like this. But despite this, I still enjoy them. Thankfully, games like KOTOR, Mass Effect, Fable 2 etc. are a breath of fresh air.

Theres too many game genres spread out this year, and high quality games with not only 1 game from 1 genre standing out in the FPS fad ( SMG ).

Rainbow Six Vegas has no chance.

Gears of War 2 ... not likely, very unlikely, 06 GOTY? 06 wasnt near as good as this year or 07.

Spore or Fable 2 ... I dont think it will be any of the complete mainstream ones.

fps is a fad? fps started it all...

I hated the acting and dialogue use in the newer SW. They tried to make funny remarks at times when it shouldn't be funny. Peter Jackson, I think, did a great job making the viewer feel the tone of the movie.
