I like to buy games from a non-chain game store. It's a lot easier to find the game you're looking for and the people that work there tend to know what they are selling. I've stop going Gamestops, EB games and such, I really don't like how they push you to buy used games. And what I also hate is how you sell your games for very little, yet the sell them at really high price.
Okami did recieve many rewards, IGN dubbed it Game of the Year. Funny thing is, it sold better in the United States than in Japan, so I guess Gears being an American game did not have anything to do with it winning Game of the Year. Although I do agree that Gears should have won best online & shooter. Clover has always made some great games with great style (Viewtiful Joe), but Okami just didn't get a big enough audience (which is why Clover has shut down). It might have to do with marketing, I recall Gears being on MTV and seeing a lot of commercials before release.
According to wikipedia, okami only sold 200,000 copies in the states, and only 66,000 in Japan. Which is pretty unfortunate, because it really was one of the best Playstation 2 titles to come out. I like to think of it as the Twilight Princess for the Playstation.
I just want a 32 one as a temporary thing. Eventually I'll get a bigger one. I haven't had a memory card for a while now, and I really want to get Portable Ops. Plus Syphon filter and Daxter are just 20 bucks now.
