University and Other Stuff

So not much to report on but there is some stuff going on:

University:

Well, I was accepted into my university of choice and am planning to go into pharmacology which should take up the next 6 years of my life. I've also applied to the Honors college section which I should be getting a reply from soon in the next couple of days. Apparently there is an anime club, gaming club, and kendo club which all got me very interested. I will be starting this fall.

Other Stuff:

In anime, I've made hardly any progress due to my extensive coursework and especially the ever-annoying AP Microeconomics. However, this weekend I should finally be able to complete Guilty Crown(I have 2 eps. left). As for gaming I pre-ordered "Disgaea 3: Abscence of Detention" for the PS Vita and "Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland" collector's edition for the PS3. However, I forgot to make them separate orders, thus I won't be getting Disgaea 3 until Atelier Meruru comes out. On the bright side I won't get distracted in my last month of school.

Asides from that nothing else is new, so I'll post more later once things actually start happening around here...

Everything Up 'Till Now

Basically, I haven't been keeping up this little blog and so there is quite a bit to talk about so I will start from least recent to most:

(sorry for the bad quality as I was in a hurry)

Final Fantasy XIII-2 (Collector's Edition)

In short the game was fun, and with a good ending but definitely could have been a better one. The gameplay mechanics were fixed and the quick-time events during boss battles didn't remove from the gaming experience. It was definitely a move forwards for Square Enix and a sign that they are listening to their fans, however I don't care for their DLC. And yes, that was a slipcover for the box that held the box that had everything else~

Hyperdimension Neptunia MK2 Limited Edition: Gameindustri Savior Set

This game is for those that don't know, full of parodies and references about the gaming industry, and is an extremely niche jrpg that I seemingly enjoyed more than FFXIII-2. I got the "Limited Edition: Gamindustri Savior Set" which includes a soundtrack CD, an artbook, and a deck of card as well as the game itself. The battle mechanics have been definitely improved in this game with the drawback that they paid too much attention to the setting and not to the characters(which is their strong point), thus leading to a story which appears lackluster to its predecessor which it surpasses in ever other conceivable way.

PS Vita

So, I just bought the PS Vita alongside Dynasty Warriors: Next today(I found $120 on the floor in the mall:)), but sadly has to postpone purchasing Tales of Graces f. I can't tell you much about the Vita as I haven't played it yet(I will after I post this), but due to some requests I will posts my thoughts about the Vita in a future blog post.

So what do you guys think?

My 2012 Most Anticipated Games~

So seeing as Hanzoadam and a couple other friends made theirs, I decided to go ahead and make my own. As always there is no specific ranked order involved.

My Pre-ordered Games:

Xenoblade: Chronicles (Wii) 04-06-12

Probably my last Wii game ever, and maybe even the best. I really wanted The Last Story to come out, but this will definitely bide me over for some time...finally, a great traditional Jrpg in a long time for the Wii :)

Hyperdimension Neptunia MK2 (PS3) 02-28-12

The sequel to a pretty fun game on the PS3. I loved the storyline, art design, and videogame allusions in the original but what was sadly lacking was a great combat mechanic. Alas no more! At least from what I've seen, the game's biggest flaw has been fixed and it's shaping up to being a pretty solid game in my collection. In fact, the game looked so great that I pre-ordered the collector's edition of the game which came with: the game, the OST, a deck of beautiful playing cards, and a beautiful artbook~

Future Pre-orders:

Black Rock Shooter: The Game (PSP) TBA

Black Rock Shooter: The Game...what can I say? Since the moment I've heard of it being in production I decided I was going to get it no matter what. It's actually my most anticipated on my entire list to be honest. Luckily, it doesn't follow the OVA's storyline, but rather has it's own distinct storyline which is promising. Art is being done by Huke, but sadly it looks like the opening song isn't her theme song which would have been awesome in my opinion. I doubt it's going to be 10/10 material, but the combat looks solid and I even bought a PSP just to prepare for this game's release. I can't wait...

Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland (PS3) 05-??-12

The third installment of the Atelier series on the PS3. There is not really much to say about the game to be honest and I expect it to be somewhat of a polished up version of Atelier Totori, but as for pre-order bonuses and collector's edition...I don't think we have any news about that at the moment.

Other Games I Will Be Picking Up:

Tales of Graces F (PS3) 03-13-12

http://image.gamespotcdn.net/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/8/604158_198082_front.jpg

I've heard nothing but great things about the series and seeing as a new game in the series is coming out, I thought it would be the perfect time to jump into it...let's just hope it's a wise decision and that I turn out to like it.

Warriors Orochi 3 (PS3) 03-20-12

The third installment in the series which offers a "what if?" situation featuring the idea of having the famed warriors from the Three Kingdoms period of China and the warlord from the Warring States period of Japan meeting each other in the field of combat. Koei hasn't failed me yet in these kinds of games so I have high hopes for this game.

Dead or Alive 5 (PS3) TBA

I was always into the DOA franchise, but have never had the opportunity to own one the games in the series(asides from Dimensions for the 3DS which was mediocre). Can't wait to get my hands on it and play as my fave character...Hitomi :)

(my list kept on deleting itself so from here on I will just list them)

Labyrinth no Kanata, Bravely Default, New Love Plus, Time Travelers, Tokitowa, and Ciel no Surge.

...sad it had to end on a sour note like that but, I am curious...what games are you guys getting?

3DS Code

i guess i forgot to add it around here...if you want to add me please tell me who you are and just don't add me with no notice whatsoever: 5198-2497-4209

Christmas and Prior Purchases

These were supposed to be two different blog posts but i got carried away so I thought i might as well merge them...

Anyways, in the weeks leading up to christmas i made a couple great purchases:

L.A. Noire(for free due to Gamespot's buy 2 get 1 free deal):

game update 2

Star Ocean: The Last Hope International:

game update 5

Mario Kart 7:

game update 6

Resonance of Fate:

game update 7

Dynasty Warriors 7:

Out of these games i already beat Dynasty Warriors 7, L.A. Noire, and not sure if you can technically "beat" Mario Kart 7 but anyways i also bought a pretty gem which I already finished as well being Fate/Extra Limited Edition:

game update 8

and it includes an artbook as well as a soundtrack CD :) :

game update

.

So that's what i bought myself before Christmas...as for today i received a Camera, $$$, and 2 Toblerones:

.

Sadly when i was taking pictures the lighting wasn't good but it's still a great camera~

My 1st real blog entry

Hey everyone, as you may have noticed I like videogames and anime so that will probably be the main focus of my blogs. Another thing to take note of is that i won't update these regularly, and I've been meaning to start this a long time ago but college applications and tests in AP Bio and Advanced Physics got in the way. Anyways... Anime: I've been really behind and recently tried to catch up so i finished off the remaining anime from last season which were: Ro-Kyu-Bu!, R-15, Steins; Gate, and Nichijou. Nichijou and Steins; Gate were easily the shining stars in that bunch with Nichijou being as funny as ever and Steins; Gates having...well to not give it away, "complications" in undoing all of his manipulations amongst time lines. After i finished that i started watching some of the airing anime and have caught up with Bleach, Fate/Zero, and Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukanai...so far Fate/Zero has impressed me the more but Boku wa Tomadachi is pretty close. I still can't believe they had Gilles de Rais as a caster...it's been a really long time since i wanted a character to die so badly. And Kiritsugu alone makes this better than Fate/Stay Night so far. In other news i am about to start Working'!! as soon as i am done with this blog Oh, and for those interested you can add me on MAL: http://myanimelist.net/profile/Josephl64 Games: I recently received a copy of Sonic Generations for a short while since i have to deliver it to my stepbro overseas along with three copies of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 to give away as prizes for a gaming tourney in Brazil. Anyways, Sonic Generations' storyline was weak as expected but the gameplay was pretty fun with my favorite parts being the boss battles. Sadly the extra side challenges became tedious and boring :/ On the other hand I've been playing a bit of Atelier Rorona(i am starting from the beginning again) and just when i feel like i beat the game i hear of a third installment in the series...i feel like i really need more free time but it was definitely worth it :) I also bought the soundtrack CD separately for $5~ and i am going to cut it short here, tell me what you thought and how I can fix the blog...thank you :)

Samurai Warriors: Chronicles complete~

Just beat Samurai Warriors: Chronicles and it was entertaining all the way through...i was kind of disappointed about these kinds of games after Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes from Capcom and DW6 from Tecmo-Koei went wrong. This however revives my interest and after hearing such great things about DW7 i am leaning towards getting that soon enough.
