I agree and disagree. I would say, Desktop PC are dying, which will affect Desktop PC gaming. The newer generation is moving toward console and lower end notebook gaming. If they want to surf web and doing simple stuff, they do it on notebook or tablet. Desktop PC is getting less attractive because most people don't need hardcore power house Tower PC. Due to its bulky setup, alternative portable computing devices becomes more attractive as these weaker devices is getting more capable of delivering acceptable experiences. It will hurt desktop gaming for sure. But, gaming on Notebook or Tablet can be considered as PC gaming, just it is not desktop gaming. It won't die though. The flexibility of running mods is one major PC gaming attribute that I don't think console maker will ever try to replicate.magicalclick
Good observation. I can see that happening since notebooks are getting better & better each year in terms of hardware. Hell, I hear talk about these things called 'ultrabooks'. That's what I'm talking about!

If you weren't going to keep it then why the hell would you buy it in the 1st place? The people that sell their games are "RENTAL" gamers & they dont even know it. They might as well rent all their games, instead of buying them, only to sell them as soon as they finish the game

To add to that these people have it in their head that they need to be consistently playing the game every week, forever in order for it to be worth the keep. This is a stupid mentality. No game will ever do that for you

I dont buy movies, watch them once & they say . . . . . . im done. Im selling it now. You put the movie down, into your collection, until one day you want to revisit it again. The same should go for games.

EXACTLY! If you're going to buy it, keep it. I wish I took that advice when I was in my teens, I would still have Final Fantasy 7,8 & 9 with me today.

This is pretty interesting. I've noticed that consoles go up in price every generation I assume because of the graphic & processing quality of the device. It's been said that MS & Sony both operate at a loss when making consoles.

Final Fantasy VII - Honeybee Inn It's one thing that you have to cross-dress to infiltrate a pimp's mansion to rescue your friend, it's another to go into a brothel & have THIS playing in the background!

Yes. Game retailers will eventually take the games off the shelves, thus you may never see it again. This is more emphasized with places like Gamestop as opposed to the local video game shop or flea market. Some local shops will keep older games forever. Not to mention, trade-ins at retailers often give pitiful returns on your games so you're better off keeping them!

No, although I do think the PC gaming industries are trying to adapt & change their tune thanks to the piracy situation just as we've seen with Steam. I think one way to really help the PC gaming industry is to bring about a subscription-based service like Netflix. Instead of movies & shows, this service would bring games & you would pay a monthly fee.
