Well looks like I'm back at it again in gs for the summer. While I'm here for the summer, I've got a few ideas for some nice little events...

Hello anyone who might stumble upon this page. I got notified by someone about a few changes in this site so I decided it was time to finally see if things changed for the better or worse. I like the new dragging in the site, it's pretty nice. Forum-wise I'm not sure what has changed, I heard talk of a new union format, although I don't see anything different. My college semester finally ended, I finished the year strong with a high gpa and get to keep all of my scholarships which had lots of grade requirements! Aside from that, I've just been hanging out with friends, and starting next week will be starting summer school at a local college to get done with some extra classes. The summer school shouldn't be too bad however, it's just twice a week for an hour and I get free access to the school's gym for being a temporary student.

I'm going on a GS vacation till the bug gets fixed in unions. As for the union awards, they are on hold until the bug is fixed. It's an embarrassment when a website with a team of programmers is unable to fix an issue like this. I understand programming (it's my major in college), so don't try to defend Gamespot in this issue, by now it should be fixed if a team were working on it. I

Any user above level 6 and has over 50 posts may nominate Unions for each of the 12 categories available.

Many of you weren't around back then, but at one time gamespot used to create every year an awards show for all the unions on Gamespot, in order to recognize outstanding unions. Sadly, the last one was in 2007 and since then there hasn't been a new one.

It's time for a renaissance however! The Union Awards are back, although we need help from everybody to make this as successful as previous years. Here is the link to the thread where this is being worked upon, we're looking for volunteers and people to help spread this throughout all the unions in gamespot. We want to make this as unbiased as possible and have as many people as possible from the community involved in this project. Let's raise awareness for unions and honor those who've been successful!

Most new members won't know what I'm talking about, but for you older members still around, whatever happened to those union awards that GS hosted a couple years ago? To the newer gamespot members: gamespot used to host a contest where there were different categories for unions, and after a nomination process and then voting, the top unions of the year were picked by the gamespot community for certain categories.

I remember they were fun, and were a great way to boost union moral since it showed users which unions were doing well. Will gamespot be doing them this year?

For some reason whenever I try to join a union, it appears as though I never joined and in my unions page it shows the union as though I was sent an invite to join it. Regardless of what I do, I cannot join however and become an actual member. I even recieved a message from one of the unions that I was trying to join saying that I'm now a member, although when I look at my unions page I'm not even in the union and I'm unable to post. :x

I noticed this last night, and it's starting to get on my nerves now that I can't join a union that I want to post at. Before anyone says, yes I did notice a thread in the technical issues thread, and added my own input, although haven't heard much of this. I'm hoping this gets fixed soon...
