Thanks. It looks good. Needs to blend in a little more though. The characters seem to stick out a bit from the background. Have you tried using modes? Hard light, burn, overlay, etc..?
no i dont use that stuff mostly because i dont know how to
I'm not sure how they work in Photoshop, so I can't really offer much in the way of tips, unless it's similar to Gimp. But it's definately worth investing a bit of time into figuring them out. They really help to enhance the colours.This is something, I often do with character art.
Duplicate your character art layer. Make sure both layers are next to each other. Set the top layer to Hard light, while keeping the bottom layer as normal. Fiddle with the opacity/transparency settings of both layers until the colours pop just the way you want them to. Sometimes, I'll duplicate again and set it to burn, but I'll usually keep this at a low opacity/transparency.
Don't merge these layers. It cancels out the effect.
i dont use photoshop ether i use gimp like you when i said photoshop i ment a program like that
