[QUOTE="Kman5507"]How long does it take you guys to draw these things? Whenever I draw I could do something good if I spend time on it, but I always get lazy and make a poor drawing.supergohan1Depends.. If I'm drawing something I'm familiar with, about half an hour. If I'm experimenting, then I could draw for three hours straight.
Nah, not that. Sorry, I don't know the official term, but I meant like these.Kman: i usaly spend about 2 hours on drawing
Gohan: i didnt use a sketch pad a year ago but i use one now

[QUOTE="swimmer1029"]Heres the steps. I picked up a few tips online. Now I must try it!
Too bad I don't have a working scanner at my apartment, but I might have some sketches here at my parent's house that I could upload. (none of them are original sketches though)
supergohan1
1. Use the black and white option on your scanner. (If it has one.)
2. Use the Colour capture tool to select the black lines of your sketch. Then cut and copy those lines on to a transparent layer.
3. If your lines aren't dark enough, or too jagged, (As was mine..) Use the paths took to redraw your sketch on a seperate layer.
4. Now for colouring, (This applies to all proceeding layers.) Duplicate the layer with your sketch lines. Find the area, you wish to colour and then use the fill tool. (If colours leak into other areas, find the point where your line is broken and use the pencil tool to connect the broken lines with a fine white line.) If colours leak and you're sure all the lines are connected, be sure your working on a duplicate of your sketch lines layer.
5. Use the burn tool on the areas which you want darkening and the dodge tool on the areas which you want lightening. Simple. ;)
Was it, Herby?I saw the rarest car I may ever see in my life. I would post the name here, but the production number is so small, and many of the cars didn't survive, that I'm worried it may alert you guys to my location.
But let's just say I almost cried when I saw that car.:P
What's up?

Also.. Practice and patience, Bug. That's what it takes to draw. ;)
I'm still practicing hands. They look a little massacred atm.. :P
drawing hands is my biggest problem if you remember from this picture that i took about a year ago
