This goes against what IBM said last year about the CPU being "an all new processor" and having lots of EDRAM.
Anyways, we knew the CPU wasn't going to be all that powerful. Iwata said so himself. It's probably around the same as current gen CPU's, but just more efficient.

The GPU is where the Wii U is gonna be a nice step up from current gen systems, atleast according to several developers and others with "inside sources" like this Arkam guy.

This article actually just twisted the words from IGN's article on the game. Sumo only said the game was on par, not the system.

"The game is easily on a par [with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions], says Lycett. Were still very much getting to grips with what we can make the hardware do [...]. So its hard to really answer that right now, but yeah, I think once weve had a bit more time finding our way around it, chances are you can look to do things that you may not be able to do before.

Nintendo wont be there but a few 3rd Party devs are going to be there with Wii U games. Supposedly Ubisoft is going to be showing off a new build of Zombi U too, so thats something atleast

He's not saying there wont be any 3rd party characters, he's just that he doesn't want to go overboard, because it will ruin the idea of Smash Bros. He also doesn't want to go overboard with characters in general, which is a good idea because I'd hate to see more clone characters

Other M was a great game, despite a few flaws. Fun gameplay mechanics and a great control scheme (most people hated it, I thought it worked perfectly). They wanted it to feel like a 2d game in a 3d world and they nailed it. The story, while pretty bad, was still entertaining and pretty well presented.

Sonic 2006 on the other hand, is a broken mess of a game that frustrated me to no end.

I'm not the biggest fan but atleast it differentiates itself from Wii boxart quite clearly, unlike the DS and 3DS.

Personally I think Rayman Legends and Origins looks much better than any of the these games.

I gotta agree with the man :)

[/QUOTE Jim Sterling is a moron and I've finally saw him for what he was about 2 weeks ago when I learnt that Destructoid had fired Ryan Perez because he questioned what Felicia day brings to the game, and entertainment industry beyond being a glorified booth babe. The same Destructoid that employs jim sterling whom I learnt at the same time got a man and his children harrased by giving out the persons personal information on destructoid because the guy had the gall to call jim sterling sexist.WilliamRLBaker

Can you link me to somewhere that talks about this? (not the ryan perez thing, the Jim Sterling harassing thing) Not saying I don't believe you, it's just I've been visiting Destructoid for a while and I've never heard about it.

Oh and about the video, yea I kinda agree and disagree.

videogame writing as a whole is in dire need of improvement. games that have a good script are rare, games that manage to have a good script and tell the story efficiently through a game are even rarer, games that use the inherent potential of games as a storytelling medium to tell a decent story (as in, use the things that only games have, like, you know, GAMEplay) are damn near impossible to find.BrunoBRS

Silent Hill Shattered Memories is a good example of game that tells a lot of story through gameplay. While it tells most of the storythrough cutscenes, the environment, player choices and even the most basic gameplay mechanics are used to further the story. You know, metaphors, symbolism, imagery and all that awesome stuff.

You are right though, far too few games use the unique storytelling abilities of games to their fullest, or at all infact.
