Yeah the scaled down graphics were a dissapointment and the lag can be annoying. But despite these issues I still find it to be one of the best online games for the 360 at the moment. The community is strong, always plenty of games available. I love the realistic weapon accuracy and damage and there is a decent variety in the game type to keep me coming back for more.
Was a little fruststrated as I had fallen a few times when trying to make a couple of jumps but once I cracked it did give me an warm fuzzy glow of satisfaction... then I jumped off into the pool :)
My biggest dissapointment with the 360 was Lost Planet. The game really had so much potential but I just felt it failed to entertain. The aiming system was a bit clunky. The health system was nigh on pointless. The weapons were not overly satisfying and the storyline was completely random. Which was a shame because when I played the original demo way back in 06 I had really high hopes for it.
I don't think the use of the shotgun is ruining Gears. Now I personally am the world's worst shot-gunner... I just can't get my head round the huge aiming reticule...there I said it but I know enough about weapons to know that if someone is going to try and rush me from 20 yards or so by the time he/she has got into shotgun range, I could have put at least an entire mag of ammo in their particularly unattractive mug. Yes there is the occasion where some particulary sneaky individual will sneak around me, come from an angle I should have paid more attention to and proceed to liquefy my innards with the afore-mentioned boom stick but thats my own fault for getting tunnel vision. The weapons in most shooting games are built on a pseudo Rock - Paper - Scissors model. Where in certain situations one weapon will easily overpower another. I wont deny I get annoyed if the same player takes me out a couple of times the same way but I'll change what I do till I pwn them. I think it's a valuable point to note if you keep getting killed the same way then your at least 50% responsible for the way that situation arose.
I don't see any particular harm in having the Veyron in Forza if they can get it. I understand some people will think it will unbalance the game if it's made available and yes it does pretty much accelerate as fast as a speeding bullet but it's not going to be able to carry that speed in the corners. After all there is always one car in a multi licence race game that performs better or is classed as the flagship car but thats true of cars in real life anyhow and at the end of the day it's still down to the person who's pointing the vehicle in the right direction to get it round the track without ploughing it through any walls.
