[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="bsman00"]And why would smoking pot infringe on other peoples rights? it not like i would offer it to people or blow it in there face.bsman00

The mere presence of an impairing drug in the public atmosphere is an invasion of their private space. You're causing damage to a public commodity through your wanton use of drugs. Not to mention when you use drugs it affects one's productivity and ability to perform as a functioning member of society. From a perspective of utility you are adversly affecting the society as a whole through your actions.

So do you have the same stand on beer and liquor, that is consumed in public all the time... so what about anti depressant, xanex, other medications do they effect one's productivity and ability to perform as a functioning member of society? or are those ok since the government said it was ok?

I am on Vicoden and I am not a productive member of society. The pills screw up my head so bad. my feelings are that if Pot is made legal it should be regulated like alcohol. Like no driving or walking the streets while high. The problem is no matter how harmless compared to other legal substances it is still illegal.

[QUOTE="kakkarott23"]The government are the ones to exactly say what we can do or not do. That is their purpose. Whether you are in a supposed "Free" America or anywhere else in the world it is their job to regulate what we do wether we agree or not.bsman00

No thats not the governments job to tell us what to do and what not to do.... they are there to protect us and to serve us.. at least that what was the original intent...

And why would smoking pot infringe on other peoples rights? it not like i would offer it to people or blow it in there face.

The government protects us by telling us what we can and cannot do to ourselves and others. In the US we can't even legally choose how we die. Just like where you are allowed to have drinks smokeing pot would be similarly managed.

My arguement was never wether Pot was right or wrong but that in this situation you know the consequences so make your choices wisely. The government makes the choice for us now and it is what it is.

[QUOTE="aliblabla2007"]

Career, definitely.

I'd like to have stable and sufficient source of income when I think about starting a family of my own.

joopyme

i agree.

well, what if aside from directing yourself to a fulfilling career, you already have a steady, stable relationship with someone who you consider as someone you'd want to spend the rest of your life with, but you cant do both without sacrificing other.

lets be real and be practical. you cant just say, DO YOUR BEST THAT YOU DO BOTH.

ITS NOT THAT EASY.

why live a miserable life, when you can live it first then settle down?

still, i'm deep**** cause i love my girlfriend to "heaven."

You can't just dismiss things as impossible. Whether you have an established career or not a marriage still requires constant work. It is all very possible and people manage both love and work all the time. It is about setting your priorities for both. I have been able to advance my career without sacraficing my values. I am a great employee and will do whatever it takes to complete a task between the hours I have given myself for that day. After that it is family time. I have done very well for myself holding onto my integrity. Anything in life that is worth having takes hard work to get and maintain.

You're right. I'm sorry, I completely skipped over the part where he said they were forcing one of them to quit if they didn't stop shagging. My bad. :)

septemberluc

Yeah, they can definately force a person to quit. Company's can be like the mob when it comes to stuff like that.

Are you English?? If so the laws may be different. I am a Yank.

Naw, I'm from Iowa.

You're right about companies not being able to fire of force someone out of their position for having a romantic relationship with a supervisor unless it is specifically stated in a handbook which was signed off on by the employee.

You have to be careful though depending on the state and sexual harassment laws. This could cause problems between the persons in the relationship or from other employees that don't like what is going on and think the person is getting special treatment. It is a dangerous thing to get involved in.

I agree fully with the "if you don't want to go to jail don't do it" arguement. Coming up with random other things don''t work as an argument. When it comes to reasons for going to jail you have some choices in the matter. Yes people get accused of stuff they didn't do but by choosing to do drugs you have to understand there are consequences.

Unfortunately, the world is not as simple as black and white. Marriage is complicated and really screws people up. There are reasons why people fight and feel certain ways. Especially when both sides play games and forget to work together. Both of your parents still love you but push each other to the limits. People don't always do stuff because the they are abusive or just a dick.
