If you ask me: I don't think Skyrim was the best of this generation...To be honest I don't even understand people going crazy over it
I mean it's the same with GW2: I think the game is overrated poo but people seem to love it...Why? It's not revolutionary as some people tend to describe it, it looks boring to play and boring to even look at
Personally I don't have a "Best of Generation" game on my mind, because I play a game, I like it or I don't, there's no point in parading it as a "THIS IS THE GREATEST GAME EVER MADE!" since..Why would I?
@Morderwrath999 @kalgert123 Well honestly....That's your own bloody opinion if you think that Skyrim was "The Worst in the series"
And what are you talking about "No stats and no loot systems"? as far as I saw from a demo that they had, they mentioned that if you join in to a fight that's already happening, you still get some sort of loot
Admit it: You want a TES MMO as much as everyone else
I am not so sure about this one, it looks like a more colorful Guild Wars 2 (And I think GW2 looked dreadful, and the combat also looked dull and repetitive)
Also the cow-creature..Looked a lot like the Tauren from WoW and that isn't exactly a good sign 60% of the time
Now...If we talk about The Elder Scrolls Online (By the way: I changed my mind, I don't want it F2P anymore if anyone caught my posts, I am willing to put down a one-time payment for it, no subscriptions though, I actually don't like being bled money for a game), they promised...What? Interactive enviroments (In the sense that you can break in to a crate and take the stuff inside, plus books and the like), a combat system that looks like Skyrim's combat system (Which if they actually do it, I will say it will get a point plus against GW2 for me, already does with the promise of stealing bread from barrels and crates) and the idea that you can use any weapon/armor set (Being a sneaky warrior that uses magic and bows, oh PLEASE let it be like that)
So...If we do get a TESO that is like that, and we have an Everquest that looks a lot like this preview we have now...Who do you think will win? Well it's probably TESO since The Elder Scrolls series is a more popular RPG series than the Witcher.....Okay fine, They are two different games and are equally 10/10 sort of games...Okay maybe not 10/10, I gave Skyrim an 8 for being pretty and all but I missed some side-activities from Oblivion and the like and Witcher also an 8 because it did have a good story and all, but I was cursed with framerate troubles...But anyway: TES is really popular, no doubt people like Everquest too, but I would rather play a TES MMO than anything else really
Oh while I am at it: Let me share you a bit of a...Joke me and another friend were having about TESO's cinematics: We were talking about a cinematic that is like...The titan 10 races (You know, Khajiit, Dark Elf, Orc and so forth) and we had a talk about how the races looked like a race Stereotype (The Orc being a brutish warrior, the Nord a viking-dressed man with an axe, and the High Elf being a beautiful princess priestess of sorts) and then they all drew sticks, the Imperial race (Which isn't in the game as a playable race) drew the short stick, and one of the races said "I guess you will be the NPC race then?" and then the Imperial was like "I shall be the greatest villain the MMO scene has ever seen!" and then storms out of the room and enters the Developer's offices
So...Imagine that cinematic and how awesome it would be if it were an April Fool's cinematic
@tgwenz Skyrim isn't exactly story-based, it's basically an RPG game where you run around killing stuff and explore things (That's what I see the Elder Scrolls as, nothing more)
While the Witcher is more story-based, plus I always wondered if there's MORE to see in the world of The Witcher, and it seems we will be getting plenty of it
Oh I forgot to add about the first part counting what they could add to the store: Extra character slots (Start off with something like..6 or something, enough to cover all the races at least), because there are people like me who are "altaholics" and will most likely spend a lot of time making extra characters, it may sound like "taking advantage of someone" but...Altaholism is someone wanting to make multiple characters, nothing wrong with that really, and if they want more characters, they can do so
This being Free to Play, and before people start streaming in saying "BAAH F2P IS PAY TO WIN! MAKE IT PURCHASEABLE!" well think of it like this: What makes a game "Pay to Win"?
Pay to Win is when you have the best items avaiable in a game but you have to purchase it for real money, or that there are massive restrictions that you pretty much are forced to pay real money...But what if they would make it Free to Play and make the in-game real-money store only have items which are cosmetics like...Extra hairstyles, good-looking armor which can be modified in some way to suit your playstyle, things like expansion packs or something like it, but don't restrict you from a lot of things, like also normal Experience gain, no restrictions to PvP and PvE and so forth
Now if they would let's say...Make it F2P but give the restrictions to like one race each faction (Which would be rather terrible) and also make the real-money store have things like...Daedric armor sets and make magical items exclusive only to real money purchases, also limiting experience, PvP and PvE stuff..Basically limiting a lot of stuff...That would be a really terrible choice in my mind
Basically...Recently I tried out RIFT as it is F2P and the limitations are...Nearly little comparing to let's say...Star Wars the Old Republic (Where limitations were rather big), in RIFT you have more or less an unlimited amount of adventures that you can partake in, you aren't limited to one general message every minute, normal XP gain and if in a rested zone, you gain rested experience and don't get a message saying "You are in rested zone, GIVE US MONEY DAMNIT!"....Basically if they could do the RIFT way of F2P, then TESO would be a golden opportunity for Free to Play
...Unless the die-hard fans weep in the forums demanding a one-time purchase and are unable to think of the good F2P way against the bad F2P way (Good is: Cosmetics/some unlocks that you don't really need to proceed in the game for real money with no/little limitations versus bad F2P with heavy limitations and being forced to buy items for real money to be any good) so I say this: People that hate the idea of TESO being Free to Play: Instead of being zealous for a one-time purchase, be zealous for a good Free to Play option, because everyone will be happy with that
Why everyone? Well because people with a bad economy and are interested in the game will download it, try it, see if it's good and maybe they will put aside some money to pay for the microtransactions (If they like it), but if they don't like it, they won't have the "Buyer's remorse" feeling and be angry with wasting around 40 euros on something they didn't like...Think of it like that, make it better for those kind of people and don't squander the chance for Roleplayers wanting to try Roleplaying in a game like TESO, which is just begging for Roleplayers to RP in it
@peterhughes1994 Ahem....Proper term is "Amazing", not "sick"
Sick is when you are feeling bad or something is so terrible that is "Sickening"
Amazing is when something is really good, oh and also don't try using the term "Beast" to describe "good" because "beast" is a monster or an animal (Animals are considered beasts) while good is something that you like the looks of
You know they really need to skip the "Retribution" part because that part should be put in to a sequel (If there would be any lunatic crazy enough to want a sequel)
The sequel would be a retribution, assuming they would make it any better
But still this game in my opinion is just comedicly bad with the dry-humping and the rather serious-looking snarls of Jake...But I still wouldn't even give a penny to the developers for this
