I'm back with a review of the two semi-finals. Since it was the best 4 teams in the competitions I am not going to write about who disappointed me and impressed me the most, but instead will review both match.

Germany 3-2 Turkey

Turkey were severely handicapped in this match but they still gave their all. They were leading Germany and then immediately equalised, but in the end, Germany did a Turkey and scored the winning goal in the dying minutes. As usual the Germans are there in the end.

Spain 3-0 Russia

Russia played a great tournament, but Spain were on another level. They annihilated the Russians twice. And when their star player David Villa got injured they played even better. I think the team has matured a lot and I wouldn't be surprised if they end up winning it.

I'm back with my review of the EURO 2008 Quarter Finals. I will put the teams that impressed me and disappointed me the most.

Most impressed by:

1. Russia - This team is just great. In Arshavin they have one of the best players in the world at the moment. The managed to play total football much better than its creators.
2. Turkey - For the second time running they were on the verge of elimination and made it back and are now in the semis. Their never say die attitude is just great.
3. Germany - They weren't favourites against Portugal, yet they managed to win. They are as strong as usual.

Most disappointed by:

1.Holland - They humiliated the World Champions and Vice World Champions, but against Russia, they couldn't do anything. They found a team that plays beautiful football better than them.
2. Portugal - They were one of the huge favourites, yet the team of Ronaldo and co. lost to Germany and yet again got eliminated early.
3. Croatia - They were playing great, they got ahead on the 119th minute, but with 2 mins left they didn't secure the result and ended up eliminated.

I am back with a rant of the week blog. With the EURO 2008, I haven't wrote one in 2 weeks. Today is the official start of Summer 2008.

TV Series

I have watched the first episode of season 4 of Weeds, and I must say that I liked it. Meanwhile I have finished watching Gossip Girl, which was quite good and I enjoyed it. I also started Reaper and have 2 episodes left. It is quite funny, and I am having a laugh watching it :)

Movies

With EURO 2008, I didn't have any chance to catch any movies, cos I have just watched football :)

Games

In Football Manager I have arrived in season 2014. I am really enjoying it. I have had good success with Man Utd, although it is quite tough when I have built up 5 unknown teams to become some of hte best in the World. With Italy I managed to win the Euro 2012 and the World Cup 2014. In Cybernations things have been a bit quite lately.

Sports

Msida St. Joseph had the Annual General Meeting, and I was re-elected with flying colours to form part of the management board for the 4th year running. EURO 2008 has been going on and so far it is great. The surprises have just been great. In Formula 1, we have witnessed the first ever BMW win. It has been long coming because in the last 2 years they showed they are as good as Ferrari and McLaren.

I'm back with another review of Euro 2008. This time I will review matches 21 to 24, which bring to an end the first phase of Euro 2008.

Most Impressed by:

1. Italy - Finally the World Champions played as they know how to. They completely destroyed France and qualified to the quarter finals.
2. Russia - They defeated Sweden 2-0, hit 3 posts and could have scored tons more. In Arshavin they have a great player that they have sorely missed in the first 2 games.
3. Holland - They played with nothing to lose, with a new squad, and yet still defeated Romania.

Most Disappointed by:

1. France - Heavy favourites before the tournament and got just 1 point. They were completely outplayed by Italy.
2. Romania - They needed a win against a depleted Holland side, and they disappointed big time. The penalty miss against Italy will haunt Mutu forever.
3. Greece - The holders ended up as the only team to lose all three matches in Euro 2008. A very disappointed tournament for them.

I'm back with another review of the EURO 2008. Today I will review matches 17 to 20 and will tell you which ones disappointed me and which ones impressed me the most.

Most Impressed by

1. Turkey - Being 2-0 down with 15mins to go and scoring three times is amazing. In Nihat they have a great striker who already showed his worth with Villareal.
2. Switzerland - Finally their attacking paid off with a surprising win against group winners Portugal.
3. Croatia - They changed 9 players and still made it 9 points out of 9. They have a great squad.

Most Disappointed by

1. Czech Republic - They were almost through when suddenly they conceeded 3 goals in a couple of minutes, one of them a huge mistake by Cech.
2. Poland - Even against a depleted Croatia side, their best player was their keeper. It says everything about their tournament.
3. Portugal - They played a depleted team and lost to Switzerland. But when their top players return, they will be a strong side once again.

Welcome back to another review on EURO 2008 on the teams that impressed me and disappointed me the most in matches 13 to 16.

Most impressed by:

1. Holland - Another scintillating display against France. After winning 3-0 against the World Champions, they defeated 4-1 the runners up. I think they now should be considered as favourites.
2. Romania - Another draw for Romania, after the one with France now they drew with Italy. A very polished display by Piturca's team.
3. Spain - Another solid win by Spain, who are considered as one of the favourites. In Villa/Torres they have a great tandem

Most Disappointed by:

1. France - Losing 4-1 is very bad, especially if you are France. They need to regroup quicky or they are out.
2. Italy - Being World Champions and just taking 1 point in the first two matches doesn't cut it.
3. Greece - The European Champions are out, and the football they played was very ugly.

I am back to write my review for matches 9 to 12 in EURO 2008. I will post the teams that impressed me most and the teams that disappointed me most.

Most impressed by

1. Portgual - Another brilliant match where they defeated the Czech 3-1. Good job to Ronaldo & Co.
2. Croatia - I was disappointed with them in the first match, but they played brilliantly against Germany to get a win, and win the group as well
3. Turkey - A goal down in a very soggy pitch, they managed to win the match with a goal in the last minute.

Most disappointed by

1. Germany - After a great opening match, they succumbed to Croatia, and looked second best.
2. Czech Republic - Against Switzerland they didn't impress and they won. Against Portugal they didn't impress and lost
3. Poland - They were very lucky to get a point against Austria. On the first half the defence was hopeless and it had to be Boruc to save them

I have started watching a new TV Series, Reaper. I must say that this series is very funny.

It is about a guy, Sam, who on his 21st birthday gets to know that his parents had sold his soul to the Devil. He now has to work as a bounty hunter for the Devil taking back lost souls. Ben and Sock are always helping Sam with his "job" with funny consequences.

Meanwhile Sam is in love with a girl who works with him, Andi, but unfortunately he has to lie and lie to her so that she doesn't get to know that he works for the Devil.

All in all I am finding this very funny and have some good loughs with it :)

4 more matches have been played since my last blog. Just like last time I will tell you who impressed me and who disappointed me the most.

Most Impressed by:

1. Holland - I thought that Holland were the worst team in the group, but they managed to annihilate the World Champions 3-0. They look to be quite strong
2. Spain - Spain are usually always under achievers. But this year they looks a strong bet. In the first match they beat Russia 4-1, and David Villa scored a hatrick.

Most Disappointed by:

1. Italy - The World Champions were my favorites for the tournament, but they got humiliated in their first match. They need to do a lot to qualify now.
2. France - After Italy, France were my favourites, but they played in a very boring match which ended goaless. They need to start scoring
3. Russia - I kinda expected more from Russia, but they couldn't handle Spain, apart maybe the last couple of minutes.

Last Saturday we have witnessed the start of EURO 2008. From the first 4 matches (Saturday and Sunday matches) there were some times that really impressed me but others really disappointed me.

Impressed me

Switzerland - They really didn't deserve to lose against Czech Republic
Portugal - They scored twice and hit the crossbar three times. Should arrive really far.
Germany - They completely annihilated Poland. Should be strong contenders.

Disappointed me

Croatia - They scored early on, but then they let the worst team to outplay them. Like this they won't make it far.
Poland - Were very poor against Germany. They need to rise their game to have a chance.
Turkey - I expected a lot more from them. Were completely outplayed by Portugal

I will comment on today's matches tomorrow or on Wednesday.
