"Don't start getting your pirated eBay accounts set up just yet though. Current-gen Blu-ray players don't have the ability to play managed copies, and ones that can aren't expected to hit the market until Q2 2010 at the earliest. Additionally, content owners will be very much in control of the backup copies, and can elect to charge for the copy made and even offer or sell additional copies."

PSP107

So far its the only futureproof player, but who knows how future proof, but because the ps3 is like a computer i think it will be able to use of it if sony wants to, standalone players would either have to have a hdd in the player or would have to be able to transfer the movie to a usb drive or be connect it to a computer

o and if you are asking about backing up games, that prob wont happpen, just movies

i prob wouldnt try this my self, at 700F its way hotter then anything on that board is ment to handel, even the guy in the vid made a slight mistake of dissasembling it sitting on a capet. in your case i dont know what id do, the guide in the vid seems to work, but do u know for sure thats whats wrong with your PS3

And yeah repairs here are way overpriced, my tv died for the 2nd time in the last 4.5 years but luckly the first time it was still under warranty. I took it to a guy that fixes tvs for Bestbuy and he said it would be $190 to try and fix the power supply and more if it needs to be replaced, not willing to pay that much, especially when i can get a 32 inch for $350 new, i took it home to try and fix it my self, If i couldnt i would try and sell it for $50-100 for parts/repair. Turned out it was 6 burnt out capacitors that cost me $19 to replace and about 30min or work, to bad the guy started charging $25 estimate fees, but still saved my self $150.

O and Never Buy Astar TVs or any other brand thats only sold on boxing days,

Was born and raised in Ontario Canada .. but I refuse to pick from the list because I don't consider myself apart of the 'Americas' .. we are our own ..

CanadianCR
the Americas is actually North, Central and South America so i don't see why you wouldn't consider your self part of it, by the way i was also born and raise in Ontario Canada

[QUOTE="sixringz1"]

it's been the same way forever. I remember paying $55 for Tecmo Super Bowl on NES. And i know the final fantasy's on NES and SNESran in the 60-70 range. Game prices have been in the same 5-10 dollar range for nearly 25 years. I wish they were cheaper, but it's always been that way, and unless they switch over to all games being DLC than it will be that way for another 25 yrs

thetruespin

agreed.. given that i was paying about £40 back in 1993 and I still pay £40 today, i think the prices are quite fair. especially since games cost a lot LOT more to develop nowadays.

dont forget that the prices of most things have been increasing, so a game that cost $60 25 years ago wold cost $100+ in todays money (according to http://www.1soft.com/todaysdollars.htm), so $60 isn't much these days

have you seen the new blu-ray players and those have lcd screen and more connections at the back and other things. Im sure if someone opened up a blu-ray plaer it would have a lot of empty space and have u heard of laptop blu-ray drives. All they need to to is start using smaller chips; 45nm Cell CPU and a 40nm GPU to reduce the heatsink size, and make the PSU external
