Battlefield 1943 unites distant family
by kbshaffer on Comments
Battlefield 1943 not only offers great graphics and playability for its price, it also offers an economical way of bringing family together (costs of console, and Internet aside). I live on the west coast while my dad and brother live in two separate states on the east coast. We were each able to throw down the small purchase fee for BF 1943 and now enjoy hooking up on the weekends to share in the laughs during those exciting and comical "battlefield moments".
If you have friends or family that hesitate to drop full price for new retail releases, I would highly recommend checking out BF 1943 on XBL Arcade. The first time you storm a beach with your buds you'll be happy you took the time to get everyone organized.

My XBOX Pumpkin

I decided to do the XBOX power halo for my pumpkin carving this year. I hung a green glow stick on the inside of the pumpkin to give it the nice lighting effect.
Halo 3 screenshots

Here are some screenshots of my Halo 3 character. I like the Elites as you can tell. Mostly because everyone and their mom uses the lame ass Spartans.I've always been one to go against the grain, and being an Elite lets me feel like I'm not just another tool.
Bungie strives for world domination
by kbshaffer on Comments
I was perusing the Bungie website when I came across a paragraph labeled"About Bungie." Within the paragraph Bungie laid forth their company mission statement which can be broken into two goals. The following is an excerpt from said paragraph: "Bungie was founded in 1991 with two goals: to develop games that combine brilliant technology, beautiful art, intelligent stories and deep gameplay, and to sell enough of those games to achieve its real goal of total world domination."I laughed at their sense of humor when I read this, and thought I would share it with all of you.

I received an invite to attend Gamespot's Player's Ball on Oct 9th in San Francisco. If any of you are going let me know and we can meet up inside for a drink or something. For those of you who cannot attend online I'll write up a blog afterwards regarding what it was like to be there, with some pictures hopefully!

Life = crazy!
by kbshaffer on Comments
To all those who read my blog...wassssup! I've been MIA due to wedding preparations, work, home life, and friends. I just got back from my bachelor party in Las Vegas, which was nuts! My buddy talked to some random hot chick that was playing slots by herself and it turned out that she had a lot of hookups all over vegas because she sold wine to the hotels. She got us into the Playboy Lounge free one night and hooked us up at Pure the next night. Mr Belding from Saved by the Bell and Shannon Elizabeth were at Pure the night we were there...it was SICK! Needless to say there was a lot of drinking and partying. My advice to you is to stay at the Wynn when you are in Vegas...they have a European pool there and you know what that means...TOPLESS! The rest of the trip included me losing money at craps and winning it back at blackjack.
Here is my latest recommendations for games:
Lost Planet - I know its been out for a while but I only recently played it and man is that game SAA-WEEEEET! Good graphics and lots of bugs to kill/blowup. Plus who doesnt like a little mobile suit action?
APF 2K8 - This game makes your palms sweat when you play online against other people. What other football games out right now allow you to have Joe Montana spearheading your offense eh? Enough said.
As soon as I get my Playboy Lounge pics from my buddy I will post them. Those bunny suits were even better in person!
My new Zen V Plus
by kbshaffer on Comments
Well I decided to pay homage to one of my favorite audio companies when I was deciding which mp3 player I should purchase. I have always loved my creAtive speaker sets for their quality and I hoped the Zen V Plus would give me the same satisfaction. I went with the 2GB model because it also stores and displays pictures and videos. I transferred Tyler's nintendogs video to the Zen and was amazed at the quality of picture and color. I was able to quickly transfer all of my mp3s and test out the audio quality although I already had a feeling that creAtive would not disappoint, and I was right. In the picture above you can see the silicon case w/ belt clip and arm band I also bought because I like to hit the gym. There is an FM tuner built into the Zen which picks up my two favorite rock stations with crystal clear reception. The mp3 player alone was $99.00 and the armband with silicon case was an additional $30. IMO $99.00 for this mp3 player is a steal considering the new iPod shuffle with no color screen for viewing pics and videos is nearly $80.00. Here is a pic of the Zen playing Tyler's nintendogs video. It's a little fuzzy because my camera didn't focus right.
