[QUOTE="mfp16"]... and kudos to your parents for not being dumb enough to buy you gta3 and such as a 12 year old, if we only had more parents like yours we'd have alot less grief over the industry.

I got GTA3 when i was young and i turned out well. I think parents should ultimately spend time with their children and see if they can handle such things. Of course if the child screams cuss words, acts like the game makes him want to really hurt people,or seems to be suffering from some mental disorder take it away. I've played many violent games as a child but i don't cuss randomly at people,go psycho with rage,or think that real violence/death is amusing.
I'm certain most people on this forum have bought/received games that weren't appropriate for their age. Though if the parent says no you should respect them i'm lucky to have parents that know i'm able to handle virtual violence.
My parents hardly bought me video games anyway. If you're 15 get a job then you can BUY the game yourself, like I had to do if I wanted things my parents didn't want me to have. I guess the age ratings are a lot different than 10 years ago when I was a teenager. I could buy M rated games all the time.
