Save $50 and get the CPU from here... http://www.ncixus.com/products/25298/BX80557E6750/Intel/

Newegg seems to think Intel's price cuts are specifically to increase their profit margin.

IAM-CA

why is that so cheap dam i may have to get it.

$650
Should be good enough for future updates aswell;
cpu = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16819115014
gpu = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16814102067 !!!
case = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16811119115
power supply = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16817103940
Motherboard = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813128050 !!
RAM = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820231098

Know the stuff with an !!! next to it is the best you could get for your money but i not all good with RAM, power supply, case and cpu but you have $50 left over you could buy something else or add it to buy a better power supply or cpu (for future needs) but the motherboard + case + powersupply should last until 08.

gpu = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16814102067i think this will be the best one if your not planning on going to direct x10 and not willing to go more than $200 on a gpu card.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813128050 = this motherboard should be capable for future needs

Hi all; i am finally buying my rig this friday so i have it for the weekend! id like for peoples suggestion wiether or not i should change anything; 1) i could buy a x2 5400+ AMD or an x2 6000+ AMD but i don't know if there better than this current cpu and i would like to know if one if better than an E6600.

Also would it be good if i get a $130 mini case instead? i mean will have enough space for my future upgrades?

Here is my rig costing ($656)
Should be good enough for future updates aswell;
cpu = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16819115014
gpu = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16814102067
case = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16811119115
power supply = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341002 (know gamexstream 700w!)

Motherboard = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813128050
RAM = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145034(know $80)
Ill also be putting in my current 120gb hard drive and dvd/cd stuff.

Future upgrades (next summer or before 2008)
newer cpu (maybe depends)
new gpu (direct x10 8800 gts 312 mb)
new hd 320-500gb (this will be last)
power supply (may get a new one if i need to)
Ram (if i need to again)
