I use a ethernet cable and never had that problem, if you cant get it from wirless, why dont u just download it on your computer. heres how it goes. Update>Computer>Flash drive (Or anything with storage)>ps3. and there you have it, no more pissed gamer =D

not that i know of, i've had mine since july and clock about 50 hours a week on it with my brother and the system seems the same speed out the box, online and usb componets also working equally well. oh yeah, and well come to the sony family *Evil smile*
I guess it depends on what kind of TV you have, some of them have a high Bass and Treble setting by default Or sometimes fixing the problem can be as simple as turning the Tv volume down and the game volume up.
