In my opinion,
Most FPS shooters are relatively the same (COD referances) The only thing that makes them differant are the map/layout designs and weapons. Team Foertress 2 made this unique because of the implimentation of classes etc. World at War was great graphics on my 42inch 120mhz 1080p and all the mappacks were fun maps, great and very very differant, small maps with intense firefights, longer maps and more strategies and squad based combat to win, setting up bettings and protecting someone with a heavy gun gone prone, ....but
Left 4 Dead2 to me has a much higher replayability, VS, Scavenge, CREATIVE gameplay, zombies vs humans? INSANE.
but mw2 is great, differant then all previous ones? /shrug.
I love the left4dead 1/2 Classics. Also if you have a playstation 3 get Demon Souls :p
Its got a great combat system and a wonderful use of atmosphere, mixing online elements, dark surroundings and brilliant sounds and effects to create such an immersive world.

Also, the player versus player is so creative, innovative and just pure awesome. The gameplay is so addictive, the enviroment is so awesome. The level designs all unique each world has its own flair and experience, with mapping, bosses, its very great escapism for me.
Once you "beat the game" you can continue to level up (sorta like diablo) and actually many weapons & spells/miracles/items cannot be gained until you play through it more then once, you continue invading other players world if your evil hunt them down and duel to the death, or just sneak up and backstab :)
OR you can be good, a wizard wielding magic and have yourself in soulform so others can summon you (and you assist them)
or the Redstone for just a straight up duel, whoever loses, loses all their collected souls and a soul lvl with of course item decay etc.
Hard core.

Exactly. Its not just another FPS game. It seriously is creative multiplayer game play/maps etc. Love it.
Let me say this,
I used to be a hardcore PC gamer. Hated consoles, played alot of Quake3 Team Arena (LAN Parties etc) Alien VS Predator, Neverwinter Nights, Starw Wars Galaxies, Anarki Online, Guildwars etc.
Sold my pc gave up gaming, got into art, as video games started to dissinterest me after playing for years. I bought a 360 for Netflix and video games when I got an HD TV :) After playing Bioshock & Fall Out 3 I bought a Playstation 3. New generation consoles had officially announced how awesome it was playing with a nice TV.
Most movies/tv now are really lame. I saw videos of Demon Soul's and read threads on how hard it was. This was it, it is hard. Those players that say they never died, let me say this. Then your hardcore. You think, you play well. Thats what it requires to not die. Some have found exploits. I have used none and am a lvl 150 Hunter playing through NG. It's amazing. Its innovative.
The level designs are amazing. I have played so many games and very few have sucked me in like this, after long days of work etc and cold (Minneapolis...) this game gives me a healthy challenge and innovative pvp. I love laying the blue stone down and going on a looting venture and in the amidst, to be summoned to help someone, its a great way to clash gamers together. Unique to say in the least, vs straight up fps shooters online. The invading system is really creative and the boss/player fight of latria, epic. It is epic, it changes the way video games are seen, to put the players as a boss is stunning for me, after years of video games this is something that has been done really sloppily but this game really did it well.
I am hoping for the 6th Archstone to open up and with that perhaps a way for players to convene with another, perhpas a mini town? Or an arena for duels would be great, but who knows....:)
Either way, it was money well spent, and a classic game making the ps3 worth it :p
