yep the blog name says it all i have Minutes to Midnight and have had it before it came out in stores and i could have written myself a review for it but i didnt because i wanted to wait for other people to get the album so we could all have a real conversation about it. Anyway seeing as though i probly like the band more than any of you(ROFL seriously) and i would like to say that it is incredibly different from any other album they have sold (i should know i have all of them (and no i didnt do your cheap ways and get em off limewire)).So lets get this review underway.
1, Wake - Wake is the intro song to the whole album it is what they have done for all their albums o i guess it is kind of tradition for LP the only time they didnt have an intro to their albums were in Collision Course (Jay Z and LP MTV MashUP)
2, Given Up - One of the if not the best song on Mintues to Midnight with its muted strums at the start the hard yet awesome rock during i,although this song kind of felt like a Sum 41 feel. As for its lyrics they were chosen wisley and contained swearing once. un-doubtely one of their best songs on Minutes to Midnight.
3, Leave Out All the Rest - Leave out all the rest was one of their nice songs without heaps and heaps of guitar like in papercut or Forgotten or Figure.09 it has a nice gentle feel but still has enough guitar in it to bring back the score home stretch.
4, Bleed It Out - Bleed it Out was one of the best songs as well with the awesomness mix between guitar and rap it made Mike(the rapper) sound amazing although it sounded happy not like sad like some of their songs such as In the End or Numb. Fast guitar in this sort of but good enough to keep up with Chester(singer) singing.
5, Shadow of the Day - Shadow of the Day was an alright song but a song that i really did not preffer on Minutes to Midnight. the intro to the song sounded rather boring and the song itself didnt sound that good either not saying its bad just not quality linkin park material i ussually like.
6, What Ive Done - (had this song the day it came out 4th April) What Ive Done is proberly one of their best songs as well this song had no faults except one.....Mike only played guitar no rapping and i know he can do both (somewhere i belong,Faint, Dont Stay am i right??)
7, Hands Held High - hands held high was a good song on Minutes to Midnight with its army marching drumming feel gave it a nice rythm and soothing lyrics making it one of their good songs on Minutes to Midnight.
8, No More Sorrow - no more sorrow was just as good as given up or bleed it out or hands held high, its sound was kind of the sounds you see on a old horror film like an organ or some instrument but sounded awesome none the less and this surley made it one of the songs that deserve gold.
9, Valentines Day - valentines day was no doubt one of their best songs (maybe of all time) with its cool sweet rythm to begin with before moving up to the end chorus with one of the best chorus's they have ever done (maybe more so then Faint0.0).
10, In Between - in between had mike singing the whole way through it, this song was pretty good but nothing good enough to make you listening and listening to it.
11, In Pieces - in pieces was a good song with their slow start with bongos or probly a automated dj program used by joe (Mr Hahn/Joe Hahn)although like In Between still nothing speacial although has a nice short guitar solo near the end.
12, The Little Things Give You Away - little things give you away was an alright song with a dull feel this was probly my least favorite and last song on Minutes to Midnight saved by its solo i am not gonna be frustrated with it.
thus concludes my review on LP's new 2007 album Minutes to Midnight the band has said they still have many more albums to release and as long as they are releasing i will be buyiong and reviewing as their songs i believe they did a good job and was a good change in terms of lyrics and guitar. i believe the LP team did a great job and they deserve every cent of what money they make for releasing such good albums/singles/songs.
also if you think i didnt have it before you please message me because i had both What Ive Done when the leak off the radio came out and i had Minutes to Midnight the day it leaked onto the intyernet and no i am not a nerd im a diehard fan who simply thinks linkin park deserve to be where they are. As for their future i wish them the very best and i look foward to more of their upcoming albums and/or singles. this is SavageShade(kim) and i thank you for your time.
cheers,
SavageShade(kim)
