So yesterday was my schools Honor Roll celebration so naturally I was there. Anyways, it was boring for the most part, the same usual stuff, you are the future, etc. Anyways, they had chicken which was delicous and thats about it. For the most part it was kinda boring, but then we had a guest speaker who had graduated from my school and was now one of the cities most honorable judges. She gave us a speech about how it is our duty to work for the betterment of the next generation and how we should never give up, no matter how hard life gets. What really made her stand out was her closing sentence: "The winner of the race is not the swiftest or the strongest, but the person who endures the most." I thought that was very 'uplifting' and worth sharing.

Words I live By

Today, I thought I'd share some random quotes I've found over my time:
What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans and the homeless, whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or the holy name of liberty or democracy?
Dance like no one's watching. Sing like no one's listening. Work like you don't need the money. Love like you've never been hurt before. Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.
The greatness of any man, lies in his simplicity.
Christ was a prophet, a visionary, and a spiritual leader. But first and foremost he was a man.
Life is a hilarious contradiction. It fights to live but lives only to die.
All truth passes for three stages.
First, it is ridiculed.
Second,it is violently opposed.
Third,it is accepted as being self-evident.
If we were to wake up some morning and find that everyone was the same race, creed and color,we would find some other predijuce by noon.
I have the heart of a champion. I can feel it in my viens. Even if my blood, sweat and tears mean nothing, I'm here to win.
If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh.
The difference between Genius and Stupidity is that Genius has its limits
I know you're out there. I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid. You're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin. I'm going to hang up this phone, and then I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world without you. A world without rules or controls, without borders or boundaries. A world where anything is possible. Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you.
I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad, the dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had.
Every drop of sweat in training is one less drop of blood in battle.
Both optimists AND pessamists contribute to society.
Optimists made the plane and Pessimists made the parachute.
A dropout will beat a genius through hard work.
If you do not possess Heaven, gain knowledge and be prepared. If you do not possess Earth, run through the fields and seek strength.
You laugh at me becuase I'm different. I laugh at you because your all the same.
Absorb what is useful; Disregard that which is useless.
The needs of the many outwiegh the needs of the few.
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.
A man that is able to knowingly face his own death is not a man who deserves to die.
A soldiers life is fraught with peril, and a true soldier is made in the fires of conflict; But while the licking flames of war shape the soldier, only the soothing coolness of peace can make him steady and strong once more.
The feeling that you're losing your soul means you still have a soul to lose.
I'm not afraid of dying. I'm afraid when I do die, my soul won't make it to God.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.
The object of war is not to die for your country, but to make the other bastard die for his.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, prepare to die.
Only about a month till D/P are released here in the States.

I was so excited when I heard the news. Pokemon has been a big part of my gaming life, it was pokemon that first got me interested into the RPG genre. What makes this generation even better is that thanks to the DS's wifi capibilities, you can trade and battle people from all over the world. This essentially means that fir teh first time ever, everyone can "catch em' all". I'm a little pissed at the U.S commercial though, which can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgqDZ2gEhog. Its stuff like this that make people believe Pokemon is a kids game. Sure the target audience is children, considering all serious fans would already be getting the game but the special stylus seems tacky. The japanese commercial is alot better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBQx5IgGH5w. I can even think of a better commercial than both, that highlights the wifi capabilities. It would starts off with this guy walking into his room after school, and a message appearing on his screen that says. "Head to the ungderground." Cool ominous music would start playing, of course. Then you see the guy putting on one of those kool DS headsets that are coming out next month. He would take out a DS Lite and turn it on and the screen would stay black to add to the mystery. Then suddenly, Pokemon Pearl/Diamond would appear on his screen. The rest of the commercial would show off the new pokemon, moves, etc. Near the end, it would show off some wifi capibilities such as global trading and battling. Finally, cool voice over guy would say, "Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, coming soon." Hey, anythings better than what they have now, right?
