Theres a great reason why thats a good idea.You use the C-stick to move the camera and you use the A button to shoot. You use both the c-stick and A button with your thumb where as you use the R button with your index finger. If R button was to shoot, you can move both the camera and shoot at the same time. This is why I thought Geist was so much better than MP2
To the best of my knowledge, the c-stick was always used for weapon switching and never for controlling the camera. I don't know where you got that idea. The "camera" was controlled by the left analog stick while depressing the R-button, so there was no conflict with shooting. In fact, in the instruction manual, this motion is described as "aim." And Geist was not a good game, partially b/c of its crappy firing button, I think.
