Glad to see this took off!
I definitely agree with all the comments about characters influencing the world. Kvatch was THE premium center-point of this. I loved how people would recognize my character as "The Hero of Kvatch", but I continuously would warp back there to see how repairs were going...only to find that a year later the town was still on fire and the sun was blotted out!
I would say mounted fighting is a must. I want to be able to charge by enemies and cut them down as opposed to climbing off my horse every time.
I would like Vampire to be a starting option. The Vampire portion of the game was incredibly cool in my opinion. I just would have preferred to be able to maybe start off as one.
Again, can't emphasize enough...character back story! Take Mass Effect and do that. Let me decide if my character is from a town that I will eventually come across in Tamriel, and run into people I knew and have them marvel at how I've changed and blah blah blah.
Better head-to-torso blending. Ever notice your torso being a rather different tone than your head? Apparently a tan-line...
Better stealth system. Being a stealth character wasn't too useful in the end considering you could sneak up, do a lot of damage....but then get stuck down by the other 10 guys, and the guy you hit from behind who is still alive. Instant stealth kills seem a must, also perhaps a grab and drag system where I can pull a guy into the shadows for a speedy kill.
I touched on this a bit earlier, but have more anatomy related damage. If I hit you in the head with a hammer...you're dead. The leg...you're hobbled. The arm...it's useless. I want that. Would have made hammers far cooler. For swords, losing limbs would be very cool.
Expand on the Arcane University subplot....great concept that wasn't executed too well.
I think it would be better if the main plot didn't pick up so quickly. Let me start off in the world free to do as I please for a bit, then at some point have me stumble upon the quest-line. For instance, start off as an apprentice Mage, and eventually get assigned to go to some village for something trivial but encounter an invasion or something along those lines.
Have the "evil" responses have a purpose. Why was my character apparently evil but still saving the day? He should have taken over the world instead.
