As there are a lot of people that like to trade in their old games to get new ones there will always be a place for physical distribution as you can't trade in something you've downloaded.

Physical distribution will shrink but it wont stop anytime soon. Maybe in 100 years it will be different, who knows.

Well seeing as it helps prevent theft and all that I don't see a problem with it.

Yes and no.

If it's something I know I'm going to get I try not to watch any gameplay trailers or read anything about it.

If I'm not sure about something I like to watch trailers and read up on it to help me decide if I want to give it a try.
