A lot of the countries you mentioned don't have reliable pension funds or social security systems in place. Most European and NA nations do. these populations do save, just not through their own saving accounts.
Do keep in mind that a lot of millionnaires earn most of their money through other ways than personal income that will be taxed in this manner (stocks and such).

Greece is in it's current state because people don't pay taxes there derp. Quite, if they rich part of Greece would actually pay the taxes they are supposed to pay it would fix a big part (if not practically all) of their deficit.

Given the fact that the relative price of a gaming PC that can play the multiplatformers and even exclusives will only go down. This due to the slower replacements in console hardware and things like Steam simply being amazing. I can see the PC becoming even more of an ''alternative'' to the consoles than it is already. I mean lets face it, in 3 years the PC will have better hardware, that doesn't need alot of upgrading or expensive C/GPU's to play games much smoother and better than any console ever could (no/little loading times, no annoying pop-in, simply far superior graphics etc.) Had it not been for exclusives being taken to the consoles, the PC would be the most popular gaming platform. It already is when you include China/India and their massive PC pirating, but even for the US/Europe the PC will be a very good alternative (with or without pirating).
to be honest finical wise sony doesint seem to be doing good but gaming wise they keep giving the games. Though vita is in need of some love.

Well the gaming devision is the only thing that actually turns a profit. They will probably survive. If sony ever goes down, perhaps apple can buy playstation ;D.
