And this reduces piracy how?

Cwagmire21

It doesn't. It'll just cause people to avoid PC games from Ubisoft even more if anything.

Especially since pirates will crack it Day 1 and leave the legit buyers SOL.

Or makes legal buyers crack their game to get around this nonsense. Heck who could blame them. But surely this doesn't go through.

You're right, that is because of capitalism. A small business owner struck it big. What is exactly bad about them making a ton of money off of something they created? Are you suggesting that we should take some money away from them?SF_KiLLaMaN
if that increases the total living quality of the nation, yes. But with moderation.

The game felt like an boring hardmode of an average game to me. ''our skeletons do 3x the damage they do in other games'', thus our game is hard. And the backtracking and the millions of copy paste monsters between bonfires wasn't exactly inspired either.

It's not perfect and definately has its flaws.

But they try to achieve so much with this game, and succeed at so many points, that its GOTY for me.

Best RPG ever for me, no contest.

Wonder how many of those illegal copies would have ever been bought legal. If you include regions where it doesn't come out / countries like china or russia / kids that don;t have the money for it, it really isn't a big deal. And the DRM is horrible yea.

I just lost count of how many WRPGs are about unifying races and/or factions to destroy a greater and common evil. So, I totally agree with the idea that WRPGs seem to get a pass for its cliches.

On the flipside, I do think the anime art direction also seems to get a free pass, yet post apocalyptia settings doesnt.

It's not the ''save the world with other people'' type of story that the reviewers have a problem with. Practically every fatasy book series / game / movie has been about that for decades. It's just how the JRPG's do the story that is a problem.

It's definately the best RPG ever when you look at absolute quality. Some 15 year old rpg isn't going to topple that. We don't live in 1997 :P. It's just the immersion and the fact that only TES does the open world thing so incredibly well. But that's only when you can live with the bugs/combat system/random freezes and all that.
