I have an Intel C2D E6420. Originally 2.13 ghz, I have it set at 2.4 ghz. However, CPU-Z is acting strangely and telling me it's only at 1.8 ghz. When I take the OC off it jumps from 1.6 ghz to 2.1 ghz for a second. What is causing this strange behaviour? Is my CPU messed up? Did I OC it wrong?

CPU - E6420 OC'ed to 2.4 GHZ

GPU - 7600 GT 512mb

RAM - 3 GB

I certainly have enough HDD space. It's not a virtual ram issue...I think...

Happens in: Company of Heroes

Call of Duty 4 (Lags only in multiplayer actually. But it's constantly unplayable when it does)

Team Fortress 2

Sid Meier's Pirates!

*** I haven't tried any others right now. But I also have the new Nvidia drivers.

When ever I'm playing any of my games I will get random slowdowns to 1 fps. Seriously I checked. It's one fricken frame per second. I was wondering what it could be? My computer doesn't have any spyware that I know of or viruses. I scan nearly everyday for them. Do you think an improper overclock may have damaged my CPU in some strange way? Or maybe it's overheating? GPU overheating? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I will check them and hope to hear responses. Thanks.

[QUOTE="TheShineSpark"]Those people are always funny. I've apparantley know people who got a Halo 2 demo disk that accidently had the full game on it (year before release), beat Halo 3 four years ago, seen Toy Story 4 and have a red PS3.codezer0
it is possible to get a red PS3 if you really want it that way, but it will be more expensive than a standard PS3.

Actually, there was a contest here in Canada with Sony Canada. You could win a Red PS3 that way. Not very many though.

A few words of wisdom, Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.--Anna--

Those are very Wisdomy words.. I will keep that in mind when I punch him in the face tommarrow. "I don't argue with idiots.." *PUNCH*.

And even when I tell him "Look up some hardware benchmarks on Crysis. 8800 GT is running 10 fps or so better than the 8800 GTS 640.".

And the funny thing is he stands his ground without wavering. It's aggravating because I started the descussion trying to tell him (when 8800 GT came out) that he should look into the step up program. I was only trying to help and then he went on telling mme how the 640 is so much better then the 8800 GT and how, I quote: "You should stop kidding yourself..". I wanted to punch him. Should I?
