[QUOTE="Kokiri-Kid"][QUOTE="MrGeezer"] [QUOTE="Kokiri-Kid"]I have been told my entire life I do. Im a great reader/writer and I plan on being some sort of writer or director at some point in life. In my high school my teachers say I have alot of potential but I dont use it. (Which im sure every teacher says to every kid) Butmy writing and reading abilty makes me beleaves so along with many other reasons. But why is it that I find it impossible to sit back and write a story or poem or anything? Or write notes in class and do homework. Its like there is some sort of force field stoping me. Anyone have answers or similarities?genfactor
Have you ever considered that they are wrong, and that you really DON'T have potential?
Or that you do have potential, but you just waste it because you're too lazy to try?
I mean, I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but these are things that you need to consider. If you're constantly failing at something that you think you should be good at, you need to ask yourself why you keep failing. Maybe you have a psychological condition that is holding you back? I don't know.
But let me say that MOST people have a "force field" stopping them from doing things. And that force field is called "laziness".
I'm not saying that laziness is YOUR "force field", but you honestly seem as if you're dodging responsibility here.
I dont take it as mean, and you are right, im just so damn lazy. How can I fix that type of thing? There is no easy way to combat laziness, you just have to find the will power to force yourself. Motivation makes it easier to force yourself to do things, but where are you going to find your motivation? For some people, just being better than others or being the best person they can be is movtivation enough for them to push themselves, but most normal people are not like that. One thing you could do is try to figure out what things in life you're passionate about and try to find your motivation from there.
I believe i have musical talent but i have a hard time making the sound thats in my head into an actual song.
